humidifier question

I have a humidifier about 8-10 feet from my pellet stove and it runs a lot when it is cold. the air blows out and meets the hot air blowing from the harmon stove. could it be cooling my room/house and making my stove less efficient?

where is the best position in a room for the humidifier?

I run a whole house humidifier and only run it at night on the auto position at 40-45% humidity level. I dont think its hurting my efficiency of my stove. One thing though...your humidifier should always be on an inside wall somewhere and not the exterior walls.

We had an old humidifier that spun out a cool mist into the room where the stove is located. With the stove and humidifier running we felt colder in that room than in the neighboring room which is 24 feet from the stove. We haven't had that problem since we replaced the old humidifier with a hot mist humidifier. We liked it so well we bought a second one.

The heat holding capacity of the air is direct proportional to the moisture content of the air.
ie you will be colder in a dry envirorment.
I do like the idea of the humidifier and the stove battling it out...but it just doesn't happen.
