Does anyone know what the differance is between the New England pellets in the tan bag and the pellets in the green bag. Some frends and I found that the Tan bag left the stove door glass black. The green seams much better. Has anyone had any experance?

The tan are hardwood, green is softwood.
I have burned several tons of the hardwood and they are pretty good pellets. You may get some clinker build-up in your burn pot with these. Not terrible, but the last ton of NE Hardwoods the build-up was considerable.
I have heard nothing but good things about teh New England softwood pellets. Clean hot burn, low fine content, very high quality pellet.
Always best to buy and try 5-10 bags of pellets before making a larger purchase. Individual (stove) results can vary quite a bit.

The NEWP hardwoods are the best pellets that I have tried. I have to actually turn my stove because they burn so hot. Great product !
