enviro meridian?

They're good stoves and in general have an excellent dealer network.

I guess I wasn't really clear. I used to sell the stoves and burned them in our showroom, so my confidence in quality is based on experience not hearsay. Hearthtools has sold them for years as well. There are also two other users on the board with Enviro Empress (both FS & insert) but none with a Meridian.

I love my enviro empress.

Mine is located in a central location in the house and heats most of my 2100 sq ft home. I probably wouldn't want the stove in the same room as where I watch TV, because I would have to turn the volume up slightly. My stove is located near our dining room table and I have no problem eating in that room with friends and family.

I live in Northern VT and typically run the stove on Level 4 or 5 all the time. I did just have to replace the Auger motor on the stove a couple of weeks ago, but I think that motor burned out because the stove runs on high so regularly and for such long periods of time. This is my second season with the stove. I would be happy to shell out the $125 every couple of years for a new motor compared to my propane savings each year. The stove is very easy to work on and I had no trouble replacing the motor.

Overall, I think it is a great stove and I think Enviro is a good company. Although in reality, my contact is just with the dealer.

The Meridian Insert is a great stove a little bit more heat that the Empress
I think A lot of peole dont post much about the Meridian is because of the Lack of problems with them.

Most post on this board is about Problems not about Praise.

I will say a few things I dont like about the Meridian

Small Hopper fill hole
Poor design and location of the leveling legs
Surround panel is a pain to put on and off.
Flue outlet is all the way to the rear of the stove and needs the use of a T clean out that is real close to the bottom floor.
most stoves have a Notch out of the hopper to allow the pipe to come up and be 4 to 6 inches closer to the front of the firebox.

I've had my Enviro Meridian insert for almost 4 years now and the only problem I've had is a burnt out hi-temp sensor. Cheap fix ~ only $35.00.

My house is 1500 sq ft and my stove heats it very efficiently. All I had to do is install a muffin fan to heat a hallway.

I have my dealer give it a thorough clean out in the spring. He dismantles it completely and tunes it up. I could do it myself, but it's just easier to let them do it.

All pellet stoves make noise, but I get so used to it that after awhile I don't even hear it. besides, it's not that noisy to begin with.

We replaced our old Austroflamm last October with an Enviro Empress. My wife loves the style, the fact that she can "just come in and turn it on" or off without consequence if she gets cold or hot. How great it is to have a stove that doesn't mind being started and stopped... Ours has been running every day and some nights since then to heat our house. We have a lot of high winds, so a stove gets used a lot. We looked at a lot of stoves, and liked the engineering philosophies and the general thought put into Enviro. After the Austroflamm, one of the positive points for me is that I didn't have to clean it twice a day when heating day and night or every day when starting it. The Empress only has to be tended to every other day with the fuel we use. I dump the ash pan (it's an FPI so the pan is quite a bit smaller) about every three or four days. But I like a very clean stove.

Our Empress has been really great for us; the only problem we've encountered is that we now have a hole in the firepan liner after 5 months of use, but the dealer tells us this is rare and Enviro is replacing it today under warranty. Cool.

Also, I sent a question to Enviro about the stove, (something I didn't see in the manual) and they were really responsive with an answer.

The Austroflamm was no doubt, the quietest stove we've (not) heard. It was almost dead silent. My wife initially commented on the Empress as being somewhat louder, but she's used to it now. As for noise, it seems about average. You know it's running, but I find it quieter than the hum of the heating systems at the office at work.

So why did we replace the Austroflamm? It was almost impossible to get parts, and what with supply and demand being the way they are, we were looking at almost $1000 for repairs to a 15-year-old stove. It wasn't that much of a jump to get a new one. And we sold the old Austro for a substantial chunk of the price of the new stove.
