I'm psyched, Just bought a ton of barefoot pellets for $229. Have to pick them up at 7AM Sunday morning. Now I just have to figure out who's truck I'm going to use...

I think barefoot is a funny name for pellets unless you meant bearfoot.Either way,I have to wonder how much though goes into naming a brand of pellets.I just got finished a couple hours ago,tossing 70-40 lb bags in the basement which is how much comes on a pallet where I live.With the delivery and tax incl. it came to about $ 350.00.They sure aren't givin' em away!

PelletSales.com is running some SMOKING deals on "Quality" Wood Pellets right now.
They are coming in increments of 1.4 tons (70 Bags). I ordered 4.2 Tons for a delivered price of 982.00. So that works out to 233 ton ton.
I was pretty happy with the deal and don't have to mess around with getting a truck. The deal gets better the more you order as it appears that the delivery charge is a flat rate.
Might want to price it out (you can do it through the website)

Pellet Sales.com is having good sales per tonnage.......but their delivery charge is way out of line. Its darn cheaper to rent a vehicle to pick the pellets up if you dont have the truck. I have a trailer so that does me good.

So i'm thinking 233 per ton delivered is a pretty fair price. I'm not getting hung up on what percentage is going to a delivery fee.
The fee also varies by how far you are from the pellets. I believe they are based in Manchester, NH....so they are probably trucking these pellets more than 70 miles to me. I think that is a fair price for that type of delivery.

I purchased a nice trailer at Rte 202 Trailer in Buxton a couple years ago....for 800 bucks or so....not specifically for pellets as I didnt have a pellet stove then. but more for household stuff...hauling etc. Its more than paid for itself in various projects lol. As for the labor in picking up the pellets....a lil sweat equity in my fule cost/season lol.

i bought a ton of barefoot, people say they burn hot and little ash. The only thing i can say i dont like is there seems to be alot of fines compared to my ton of new england
I've had good luck with barefoots. Not alot of fines. They are the hottest bruning pellets that I've found. Quite the difference in ash vs Firesides, which burn almost as hot. The Barefoots have much less ash then the Firesides.
Just to clear things up. The name "Barefoot" comes from the fact that the company who produces these pellets also owns a hardwood flooring plant which is called Barefoot Flooring. They are owned by the same folks who own Cummings Lumber in Troy, PA. I sell the sawmill parts for their machines and make sales calls on them once a month. I'm going to purchase some pellets from them to try as I just installed my first stove and I am using some pellets from Canada. How do you guys like the Barefoot pellets?

I went to the website just to check on the name but no indication that was why it was called barefoot.Their pellets are made of a lot of different fine woods left over from the flooring business-I remember cherry being one of them....I would think they would be very good pellets-lots of heat.

Barefoot pellets are a mix of Cherry, Maple, Red Oak, Hickory, Walnut, and White Oak, according to the reseller near me. I love them. By far the hottest heat output compared to other pellets I've tried including Eagle Valley, Lignetics, LG Granules, both New England pellet types and Comfort.
One of these days, I will measure the heat output. the wife thinks I'm crazy because I keep telliong her I'm going to compare pellets's heat output and post it here.

Please post your results. I bought the LG Granules and these are all that I have tried so far. I believe they are a softwood pellet but I may be wrong.

I bought a ton of the barefoot premium plus pellets for 235 a ton. I picked them up. So far I love them, they burn hot and leave little ash.

Am currently burning them now. They seem to burn real hot. I was having troubles with the stove burning them to a hard blob substance instead of a fine ash, but adding to the air intake seems to have helped this. And i think my burning at very low ranges adds to this. When I was at higher tempt ranges I had no troubles at all. Its been in the high 20's today and the stove's not had to work hard at all. Either way I'm very happy with them.

I ordered 4 tons of Barefoot for this season and love them. As a reminder, I had a 1/2 ton of Dry Creek at the bottom of the pile that I just got into. Lots of ash from them compared to Barefoot.
I lean towards the thought that many of the issues with excess fines has more to do with how many times the bags are handled.
