I was using it the to check out my chimney the day we had an ice storm, the storm got bad enough I went inside and it wound up tipping from the wind. The next day it was frozen in, I have tried moving it but i'm afraid of breaking it. I guess I should have taken the picture at night.

Looks great. One question, what was the reason you decided to have the stove off center? Is this to give you room on one side for tools, wood, etc.? Just curious looks good.

Side loading door has greater clearances than the right side. Did you oil your kettle? It sure is dark.

I'm sorry lvfd50 if it came across that way. I certainly wasn't trying to make anyone feel dumb. It is very likely that many folks don't know about the side door.

Yes, I did oil my kettle. The instructions had me oil it, fill with water, then bake at 350 for two hours. Then it said it was ready for use. I'm a lot more paranoid about running out of water in this than the old kettle before I didn't care about.

I purchased a stove this winter and am currently using my dad's old hearth pad, but this summer I'm going to build and tile a nice hearth with a matching back. Yours is truly an inspiration!
