lot of old farms had saw like thqt mounted on front of tractor, in the days before PTO they ran a flat belt from the belt pulley up to spin the saw.
Was quite the wood processing monster in the bucksaw days, before chainsaws. and certainly before OSHA or product liability lawyers!
My grandpa talked of seeing the first one, could cut more wood in a day than sevral people. But I asuem the still had to saw it down and limb it byhand.
Makes even an old Poulan/Craftsman saw look very much a blessing compared to an ax or a buzz saw.
I have used the old "buzz saw" as well. Belted it to my 1939 VC Case, it was a cuttin' beast. Had a large stack of old fence posts to block up, and I couldn't imagine anything faster. Better keep your wits about ya though, it could/would get ya in a heartbeat, and it ain't gonna stop. An arm wouldn't do anything more than grease that thing.
Ahhh, you solved the biggest problem, getting someone to lift those big, long logs ;-) LOL Maybe your wife would allow you a girlfriend to help ease the load? Nah, not a good idea around that blade!
Nicely restored (I assume). What's powering it?
Can we assume you can still count to ten on your fingers? Are those Kevlar gloves you are wearing?

It's powered by a 7hp Economy hit and miss engine that was sold out of the Sears Robuck catalog. Engine was made by Hercules. Still have all my fingers and gloves were probably cheap brown jersey gloves. The toys I play with are way before OSHA was even thought of. Here is a web page that shows some more pictures of the buzz rig.
