Hello All,
First off let me say I am a newbie to all this, and I am having a new lopi republic 1250 installed by my local professionals, next week. It has all been ordered, and they have come to my home and checked out the site, and ordered everything I would need to make it all to code. Hearth pad, double wall SS pipe, the whole nine yards. My question is that when I contacted my insurance co, they sent me a form, and it seems to be an old form. It says that the stove needs 36'' all the way around for clearances, but the company that is installing it, says it only needs 10'' to the combustable walls for a corner install? I have checked the specs myslef, and it does say it only needs 10'' to the walls, so how do i deal with my insurance co? I know the company is going all by the code, but it seems my insurance co may be behind the times maybee? thanks for the input.

My paper was old also and had much bigger clearances than needed for a pellet stove. on the top of the paper i stated to clarify any descrpencies to what they were looking for I also included a copy of the signed building permit

I had the same problems--Cincinnati Mutual Insurance Company in my case. I switched
companies. Very happy with Secura, a local Wisconsin company. They inspected the stove, took
photos, and all good.

I called up Allstate before I had my stove installed and they told me they treat wood stoves as space heaters! I never told them that was my primary heat and they never asked. They asked if I had another heating system and I said yes, that was that.
