Pellet"coal" bucket

Can't help you with the bucket search, but, an
easy way to dump an entire bag in the hopper
is to put the bag in (don't cut the bag open yet).
Once you have it in the hopper, take a knife and
slice the bag then lift the bag up as the pellets fall in.
Very easy and no chance of melting the bag onto
the front of the stove.

How bout a coal hod?
Cheap, looks nice, and mine holds about a 1/3 of a bag at a time.

Now you have a good excuse to go to the antique shops. Use your imagination and look for something that looks good with the stove. We found a nice big copper boiler that was black with so much crud. Polished up nice, holds over 2 bags of pellets and I then bought an old grain store scoop. I fill the stove by the bag but now my wife and kids can use the scoop if it's low. And it looks cool.

My wife has asked me about keeping a bucket/bin (decorative and useful) next to the hearth so when/if I should go out of town in the cold season she doesnt have to hike the 40lb bags up to a hot stove with the bay windows glowing.

I found 2 of mine at a garage sale. They were a little beat up, but after a coat of black stove paint, they look like new.

Mine hold 30 lbs of pellets each, not too bad, any more would get too heavy.

If you want a new one, any hearth or stove shop will carry them. Probably the dealer you bought your stove from would have them.

My wife bought ours at Menard,s for around $18 she says, holds about 1/2 bag.

I find it to be absurdly expensive, but there is such a thing as a "pellet pail."

Great idea, but $80.00 is a bit much for a plastic pail.

I bought the Pellet Pail at the dealer where I bought my stove. Even though it is plastic it's a pretty heavy duty pail. The cutting device in the bottom does not work as well as the video shows. It does work just not perfectly. It has a nice handle on the bottom if your strong enough to lift the full pail. I really don't use it much. I can just as easily dump the whole bag in. but its nice if my wife needs to use it.

An even better idea here, cut open the bottom of the bag. Open lid and hand the bag bottom end down over the side of the stove. Take the ever present razor knife and slit the bag along the bottom corner to corner. It just slides into the pot as you raise the bag and hardly any dust escapes at all. Start it near the bottom and try not to let the pellets drop but only pour out. Very neat and clean and I then use the bags to stuff full of plastic scrap to take back to the recyclers. Cutting the bottom is much neater than the top where its heat sealed

ROFL! That Pellet Pail video is priceless! The woman looks like she's busting a gut to lift the bag into the thing and then you get a quick close up of all that lovely dust rolling out! tee hee

So far, an old coal hod is the best thing I've found for carrying pellets into the house and pouring them into the stove. I've been searching for some type of decorative container to leave near the stove to scoop out of but no luck so far. I'm thinking about just knocking together a basic wooden box and distressing the heck out of it to make it look old.
