Harman TL300

Hi Folks,

I have been away from the forum for quite some time. I am still in the process of building my house and cant afford to get caught up browsing post's. I have received some PM's from two TL300 owners and was just wondering if there are other members who have the TL300 and what they think of it. I love my stove now. I had mixed feeling when I was first learning to deal with it's requirements but that has past.

I would like to add that I feel a probe type thermometer is essential for this type of stove. I had the surface mount on the flue and it is just not reliable. Just having the ceiling fan on would drop the temp 100 degrees. I saw another post saying the user was getting below 400 flue temp. 400 seems to be the magic number for my flue temp. Anything below 400 means it has stalled. With the exception being after all the volatiles have burned off and there is just mostly charcoal burning.

Sorry to hear you guys had that problem. The only issue I had was the door needed to be adjusted as the dollar bill test allowed the dollar to slip out near the door latch. It took about ten min to get it rite.

Just a word of cation. Now that it is getting warmer it will be more difficult to get the secondary burn going due to less draft. If the temps are above freezing it may stall on the first try to engage. You will need to reopen in order to get the stack temp back up.
