Multigrain boiler

Welcome to Hearth.com, 48woodie. I believe my grandfather had one of those.

There are a number of dedicated grain burning boilers on the market, but I don't know anyone who uses one. Maybe somebody will chime in.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for suppliers, I can probably come up with a few, though I suspect there are more in farm country than up where I live in the mountains.

One place worth checking into is www.newhorizoncorp.com. They have nice variety of imported multi-fuel gasification boilers available. There's also a place on my way to work, just outside of Rome, NY, that sells what looks like a corn-powered OWB. I've just seen their sign and one of their boilers parked next to it, but I'd be happy to check it out a little further if you're at all interested. I'm curious myself.

Another dealer I've done business with is cozyheat.net in Michigan. Nice selection and knowledgable people on the other end of the line.

BTW, my boiler, which is a Polish-made gasifier, reportedly works really well with dried corn cobs. If you can sell the corn, maybe it makes sense to burn the cobs instead.

The Blue Forge video shows The Man throwing 20 gallons of corn on top of a coal bed. He says it works like a charm. May be worth checking out.

I'd say the Blue Forge is definitely worth checking out. Greenwood and Garn also come to mind. Tarm.

I think we need a sticky listing of manufacturers and importers, although I don't want to leave anyone out. Maybe separate categories for gasifiers, OWBs, furnaces & whatever else. Now that's starting to sound like work.

I think you can burn just about anything in a gasifier as long as it's dry organic material. Maybe even dried manure, aka, "biologically processed, nutrient-extracted organic material."

Please tell me what your search reveled? You are 6 months ahead of me in the search.
I did come across a unit called Genesis II on the web earlier this evening. It is manufactured by Pro Manufacturing LLC of Waupun, WI. These grain burners/boilers seem to be cutting edge technology because of burning issues associated with grass pellets especially. It seemed to me that most of the technology and info that I was finding was a year or two old now, except a couple of the units listed in my post earlier seeking some guidance and help. It seems that the Europeans are definately ahead of us on the learning curve in this technology.

Looks to be a top notch unit, and the price seems to bear this out as well.

I'm leaning toward a Tarm Multi-Heat 4.0 but the $$$ keeps me researching all options.
