So I ordered my 2008/09 fuel supply back on April 20th and
this week was wondering where are my pellets...so I shot
them an email. They got back to me and said they were
swamped with orders and are behind on shipping, but I
should receive my pellets mid - late June.

Just wanted to post this in case anyone else had ordered
and not yet received theirs.

I had the same thing happen to me last year - I ordered mid april, didn't receive my pellets until July

this year, I bought some 'limited stock' pellets (PelletSales.com bought up some pellets that were bagged for shipping to europe after the original buyer defaulted) early april, and they were delivered within 2 weeks.

so the delivery depends on the pellet brand. For the high demand pellets, the supply can't keep up

but I figure as long as the pellets arrive before winter, what does it matter? It's actually better, since I don't have to store them all summer.

(and PelletSales.com gives you a call before attempting to deliver, to make sure that you're set for them)

When was it scheduled to be delivered originally?

It never was scheduled. I got a confirmation email with my order
number the next day. It's fine with me as long as I get them before it gets cold.
Last year I ordered on May 27th and the fuel got here in September
so it all worked out.

Not complaining, I basically posted to let people know who may have ordered the Cleanfires around
the same time that I did.

I'm on my third year with pelletsales.com so I am
familiar with their procedure.

Indeed, their web site currently does not list prices or available product.

Yep, from their web site:

Fall Pricing – Coming Soon

"Thank you for your interest in buying pellets or other biomass fuels.

At this time, our Early Buy and Summer Special programs are sold out.
We are currently in the process of delivering against these orders,
and updating pricing for the fall delivery season.

Please check back with us for our updated fall selection".

Anyone who planned on ordering from them is now going to
have to pay "Fall prices" whatever that may be.
Glad I got in before da lock!

I can't wait to see what the fuel charge is going to be

IF there are any available.

"The Messenger" has been shot so many times lately that I think he may bleed to death!

I ordered my pellets from them in early April and got my delivery about 2 weeks later.
When I was talking with the driver, he had mentioned that business was starting
to pick up much faster this year than last year around the same time.
He also stated they were going to be hiring more drivers to keep up with the demand.

I just ordered from my local supplier, and I'm glad that I did. He is taking orders now for September delivery. I missed his lowest price ($215), but he had them for $230 per ton, which isn't that bad for September delivery in the northeast. The good news is that he doesn't ask for any payment until delivery.

I'm not sure if his standard business practice is to defer delivery until the fall, or if he's had a run on supply. I suspect it's the latter. He carries New England Wood Pellets.

Still $190 a ton here, N/E Ohio

Just for the record, Pelletsales.com doesn't take the payment until delivery is made either.

PelletSales.com is not taking new customers. Here is how people can be considered a current customer. Go To www.pellets2u.com to place your order! The people at pellets2u said that the pelletsales.com people would continue to service their customers to the best of their ability and the it depends on the supply of clean fire that will be now comming out of TN.

I just checked that link out... their prices and delivery rates seem pretty reasonable... at least for my area.

THANKS Tinman!

I went on pellets2u the other day when you posted that / and got a price lock in for a week from PelletSales for 239.90/ton, now they are $275/ton. I pulled the trigger this morning and got 6 tons!

Thanks Tinman for the Pellet Sales info! I used the link you listed and was able to order the CleanFire Pellets I wanted.

Here is the latest just posted on www.pellets2u.com

Subject: Please alert your customers to place their fuel orders right away.

Dear PelletSales.com Dealer Affiliate,

In order to provide our affiliated retailers with the highest possible level of service during this period, we are restricting access to portions of our site to affiliates. Even so, we can not guarantee to meet every request for product or delivery services. Accordingly, we are encouraging our affiliates to notify their customers right away that they should log onto our site and secure their fuel needs for the upcoming season.

Post #8 in this thread. Tinkabranc received hers.
I have not yet received mine but did get two emails,
this one being the most recent on June 6th:

We just wanted to provide you a quick update on your order.

We have received your order, and are working to arrange shipment out to you.
A huge inrush of orders as part of our Early Buy program has created a backlog
which we are still working through. You should expect to hear from someone
in the office in the coming weeks to coordinate delivery to your home.

For most of our customers, who are not heating until fall, this does not pose a problem
and we will just get you your order a little later. A small number of our customers do
have boiler or year-round heating needs, so if you do, please call to let us know.

We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you this year and in the future.

Best Regards,

The PelletSales.com Team

I talked with PelletSales today. The impression I got was that them getting the pellets was not the problem and the cause for the lock down of ordering. Rather they saw their own limitations in regards to being able to deliver the pellets and did the responsible thing and shut it down until they felt they could continue to make promises on new orders.

I placed an order for 2 tons using pellets2u.com and an affilliate code on June 1oth. A few emails back and forth about delivery, and the last one says:

Sorry no one has contacted you about delivery yet. Again, we are trying our
very best to fulfill our deliveries. With the high volume of consumer
demand, scheduling has been very tight.

I have forwarded your email to fulfillment and if they have any more
information as to when your delivery will come they will let you know.

Thanks again for your patience

Should I be worried about not getting these in time for the winter? Should I look for a ton elsewhere to keep me going until these come? Supposedly they were supposed to deliver in July or August.

I bought my pellets from these folks... http://www.woodpelletsexperts.com/pricing.html

* AREA OF DELIVERY * -- Central and Eastern Massachusetts, Northeastern Connecticut, Northern Rhode Island.

Convenient delivery is available from Monday through Friday. Delivery charges are calculated from our store.

For deliveries less than 25 miles: 1-2 tons - $25.00 per ton
3-4 tons - $20.00 per ton
5+ tons - $15.00 per ton

For deliveries over 25 miles: Call for pricing

I bought 4 tons of Hamer's Hot Ones for $245/ton last month. They delivered 2 weeks after I ordered (exactly as promised)

Looks like the price this month is just a little higher...

I will definitely use this business again unless I find dramatically better pricing elsewhere...

I emailed them again asking if I can expect to have them by Aug or Sept. Their reply?

Hello Rob,

I believe that it is safe to say by late summer/early fall you will have
your delivery of pellets. I do not have an exact date as to when, but I feel
confident it saying that at least by mid-September you should have your
pellets.

Thank you,

So hopefully this is true. I'm just wondering if I should purchase another ton just in case.
