For those of you looking to buy the Regency I1200...

Most people with smaller fireplaces get this one because it's the only that will fit.

The H1200 is due out in August. Check it out before you get the I1200 as it's roughly the same size.

I wish I could put this one in, but my prefab in resessed into the brick about 4 inches (see attached pic) so the faceplates won't fit (even with the offset flue).

Ok, here’s what I got:

A – 30”
B – 38”
C – 20”
D – 21”
F – 17”
E – 15 ¾”
F – 23”
G – 15 ¾”
H – 4 ¾”
I – 12 ¾”
J – 4 ¾”

Unless I am mesuring something wrong, my problem is that, even with the offset adapter, the insert will sit right at the end of the prefab opening (leaving 4 ¾” of brick before it hits the edge of the fireplace opening).

Even using the I1200 I will have to custom cut the black faceplates to get them to fit into the recessed brick opening.

Basically, my problem is that the edge of the prefab unit is not flush with the edge of the fireplace opening. There's a 4 and 3/4 inch difference between the two. Once the I1200 is hooked up it will sit at the edge of the prefab opening (not the edge of the fireplace opening).

There lies my problem... I need 17" from the flue center line to the back of the faceplate... This would allow the faceplate to sit flush with the brick opening of the fireplace.

So I don't think I have much choice, but to go with the I1200 and cut their faceplate to fit inside of the recessed opening (I drew this out in the pic in my first post). Thoughts?

So, unless anyone else has any suggestions, I think I'm going to have to go with the I1200.

Thought about that, my problem is that it that I only have about 18" of space to play with on the hearth.
