There has been so many posts concerning the current availablity of pellets, questions about future availability and all about pellet prices in general. It seems to me that the smartest thing to do is to purchase the pellets you feel you will need to last through next winter right now. This way, your heat for next winter is already secured and paid for, a very good feeling indeed.
I've already purchased my Barefoot pellets 3 weeks ago and today they are now costing $25.00 per ton more - delivery is extra. I was told that I WOULD receive my pellets in September and can only hope this is true. In the meantime, I will probably grab a ton or so of some good quality pellets, just incase my delivery comes later after the cold weather arrives.
From all the posts I've read, I get the impression that most people purchase their pellets for next winter in advance, and most already have them in their possession. There are also those who don't worry about supply and purchase pellets as they are needed, perhaps bags at a time. I'm curious as to what your preference is.
