Welcome Oliver. That would be the C350 Winterport I think. Search for that and you will see several comments. Also take a look in the ratings sections for owner's opinions.

Good for supplemental heat, but it won't heat a 1500sqft house without constant tending. On the plus side, it is small and light enough to be installed by one person.

I really like my winterport. I installed it myself with the liner last Feb. and have found it to work perfectly in my 1,000 sq. ft home. The box isn't very large, and I find myself having to watch and work with the insert more often then perhaps some of the bigger inserts. But for my little house with a closed floor plan, I couldn't imagine any more heat needed. My front room will hit the high 70s with the blower on and my back rooms will be in the low to mid 70s as well. I need to figure out a better air-circulation strategy as my floor plan is very boxy (love the made up words, sweat deal).
I have the extended surround. It is basically black sheet metal, heavy thickness and is placed behind the normal surround. It is fine, no complaints. This stove is in our house because the better half demanded a nice looking insert. There are other models out there that don't look as nice, but you will get the same heat from for close to 400 bucks less (at the time of my purchase - wish I could remember what the other stove's name was that I saw in person - sorry).
Basically, it is the perfect stove for what I needed to have in my house at this time. I couldn't go larger, but if you can, and your house can accept the extra heat, then I would go a little larger just for the larger box to burn in. I get 2-3.5 hour burns with coals lasting through the night and able to restart, as long as I put in some smaller logs in the morning time.

Any chance you could post a pic of what the Winterport looks like with the extended surround? I know there is a pic in the Jotul catalog but it would be nice to see how it looks in the context of someone's home.

Like many posters, aesthetics is a concern and my wife and I have come to the conclusion that we would like to go with a Jotul based upon the looks of the stove and her parents have been very happy with theirs. Our initial thought was the Rockland, however we ran into clearance issues with our mantle. We believe we can make the Winterport work with a few modifications to the mantel and extending our hearth and using the riser and still maintain the "look" of our living room.
We would not be "hard core" burners. Nights and weekends realistically.
Our goal is a balance of offsetting some heatingn costs and having an insert that still looks good.
Question: Is this a realistic expectation? Is 15% reduction in heating costs a reasonable assumption based on the scenario described? Or is the stove too small and not going to perform to our expectations?

Your expectations are modest. If you burn regularly you should see that much savings. If it were my house I would be going up a size to the C450 in MA. A heat shield can be added to handle the mantel issue without modifying it.
I don't have the extended surround installed so the picture wouldn't do much good. After installing the riser bar, the standard surround fit perfectly into my hearth. I think that 15% is a modest expectation, I was able to do much better than that. I have an automatic oil delivery, and it usually gets filled when it gets to about 1/4 full. When using the stove on weekends and nights, my tank would only get down to about 1/2. By that rough estimate, it is a 33% savings in oil, of course offset by the cost of wood.
JimmyMood: Do you mind me asking approximate size of your place? Also, curious where you purchased the insert as I am on the North Shore of MA but have relatives in SE MA.

My house is about 1500sqft and the living room where the stove resides is maybe about 20X13 feet. The store I bought from was EN-R-GY Saver in Holliston. They can do installation, I think it was about $1000, but I opted to install it myself because my chimney was only about 18' tall and straight with a 13x13 flue. I don't have any complaints about the dealer, they answered my questions, gave me some advice about the install, and didn't try to up-sell me on stoves. I would do buisness with them again.
