Feeling the Heat
sorry if this had been covered....I will be purchasing an xxv by next weekend and read somewhere that the room sensor wire can somehow be hooked up to a programable thermostat to tell the stove when to move the temps up or down. IE. when getting up in the morning having the stove automatically have kicked on about an hour or so before hand to wake up to warmth....then kicking back down again while at work at a lower temp....then again, about an hour before coming home it would heat up again.....thanks alot.
ps. had a quadrafire 1000 at our old townhouse for a good 15 years.....loved it, but wanted to try the harmon. Hope i made a wise choice! LOL

thanks for the info....i actually finally just found the thread and read it! not sure how many actually have done this and if it is ok for the electronics...?
i would think though, what is the difference with it shutting down (room temp satisfied) vs. using a programable thermostat as far as hurting anything would go??? i hate wasting pellets when we are not home. i do not picture using this 24/7. just heating the downstairs family room and warming the upstairs in the morning and evening. this is a suppliment for not using so much electicity and forget about the gas fireplace and free standing stove.....not even in the same ballpark and the cost....anyway...thanks. great forum so far!
