................. with their woodstocking? I've fallen behind as I've been caught up with other stuff(what else is new). I'd like to build another rack for wood and I'm just now starting to build a rack for the porch. I sharpened the chain today and cleaned the filter, man this thing runs wonderfully now.....................

Hello WoodMann, doing fine here. It has just been to HOT to do much outside. Still have about a cord to split. But ahead of last year so will be fine.
Don

1.5 well seasoned stacked early in the summer. .8 cord green stacked a month+ ago. 2 cords mixed semi-seasoned and deadwood purchased and stacked in the start of a holz haufen intended to keep 3 cords. Standing deadwood cord stacked 2 weeks ago. So just over 5 cord stacked this year. Got some more splitting to do and now I have to buck a few massive limbs for next year that were blowdowns.

8 cords seasoned (full cord). Additional 4 cords split and ~6 more to cut and split. Gonna wait for some cooler weather before I get too darned excited about making wood again. I only burn ~5 cords a year, so this is 2 and 3 year out stuff anyways.

Oh, maybe about 12 cords on site, perhaps five of them stacked. Lots more splitting/stacking to do. Working on it mornings & evenings as temps permit. Wife's helping stack, and had a lesson on the splitter last night...she'll be a pro shortly. 4-6 cords of freshly cut, but standing dead rounds to be delivered sometime in late August/early September. Stuffing the new shed with nicely seasoned wood hoping to fit 7+ cords in there, we'll see. All the rest will be under roof, under eave, or under tarp when the time comes to cover it. I'm a softwood burner with two stoves, so I can go through 7+ cords in a season, no problem. (I don't talk in terms of face cords or any other measure than a cord being the equivalent of 128 cubic feet of neatly stacked split wood). Before we start burning this year, I should be pretty well set for two years. Lots more work to do, though. It never ends. Rick

Have you put a scratch on that log palace yet? That'll probably bring a tear to yer eye. I know it would mine.

More than one...you know how that goes, the very first ding brings out all the profanity, then after that it's just, "Oh, what the hey, it's only a woodshed." Still looks terrific from the outside. Well, from a few feet away. I'll put up a pic on the other forum when that puppy's stuffed to the gills. Oh, that's right, puppies don't have gills. Well, maybe Dogfish? Rick

Here's a sneak preview, though...

Looks good Rick--careful you don`t overfill the doghouse-never know when ya might need some space in there for yourself :)

Whoops, I meant to say "woodshed"..

Not doing too bad, I have 5 cords split and stacked :) with atleast that much waiting to be cut to length and split. My usage last year, 1st year, was about 3.5 cords so I should be good. But if there I find more scrounging or on CL I will not be bashfull ;-P and will take it.

I've got 3 cords split and stacked. Even if I don't get any more, it would get me though along with the ~250 gallon's of propane I have left from last year.

I'm trying to find a dealer that can deliver a couple more cords at a reasonable price just to be sure I'm covered for this season. Then I can start thinking about next years wood.

I'm set for this year with five plus cords cut, split and stacked. I'm anxious to get out in my woods and start
working on next year's supply. Between the heat, thunderstorms, and mosquitoes, I just haven't been able
to get much done this summer in the firewood department.

Yeah- I hear ya; between the heat and the rain(s). I'd say I have about half of 5/8 of my needs but of course I always want more.........

About 16 cords stacked (only 3 1/2 done this season) and a nice oak to be retrieved probably a week from now. My share of that should amount to at least a cord worth. Yes, I am at least 2 years ahead, which is how I like it!

I have about 1.5 cords split, dry and ready to stack in the new shed. 2 more cords are on order to be delivered on Sunday.

~6.5 cords split and stacked. Another 1/2 cord waiting to be bucked and split.

First goal was to have what I need for this upcoming season and be half way into the next season by mid June. Met that goal. Next goal is to be a full 1 year ahead by Dec. 1st. On track if wood keeps coming in.

Two trees were cut down in my neighborhood yesterday and I had to restrain myself from asking the tree service guys to leave the wood in my driveway....that is soooo hard to do but my husband and children hate wood and systematically thwart my efforts to smuggle more into our back yard.

My kids hate it because it means work for them. I'm not quite sure why my husband hates it since the kids and I do all the work stacking, burning etc...

I had 4 cords of wood delivered ( I know that is considered cheating in some circles but there is only so much 'wood resistance' a body can take.) in March and so feel prepared for next season. It is dry, dry, dry here and windy so I know it will be more than seasoned.

Alas, my husband doesn't even appreciate how nicely it is all stacked or the rack that a friend built that is a masterpiece in my eyes....

Maybe my husband is jealous since I spend an inordinate amount of time just kinda hanging out with the wood. I like to check up on it now and then..... :)

Perplexed even though my wife is my perfect match it sounds like you were my second soul mate. LOL

My fiances' Grandfather and I put the tin roof on my woodshed a couple days ago and now I am reading to split the remaining 4 cords I have piled and ready for my axe. I have about 1.5 split so far and will need a total of 9 or so cords to satisfy my two stoves for the winter. Luckily I am harvesting wood from an area that burned four years ago so the wood is dry and, even better, the bark has fallen off. All this in the midst of wedding preparation for our tie the knot day that is three weeks from today. Tomorrow morning I am going to start early, sharpen my saw and go out to get another cord for my smaller stove. I have been meaning to take some shots of the shed (really just four posts and a tin roof) for some time now. Despite the simple design I am rather taken by it.

I'm done for this year, unless the wind blows down anymore trees. 22 cords split and stacked. By this fall about 1/2 will be seasoned a minimum of two years. Total supply should last 3 years at least, and will add next summer to re-fill the woodsheds.

4 cords worth of standing red elm, silver maple, and red oak that we had to drop on some property. Cut, split, and stacked first of May. We took moisture measurements and marked the logs. I will be curious to see what they read by end of October/November and will report...........

well i was done but had a lightning strike a few days ago wiped out all my seasoned wood so i will be burning green and partially seasoned this year. I wanted it to burn but hoped it would be in my stove. Oh well life goes on. :)
