Just got a phone call from Pellet sales. com to tell me that they have pellets in stock and can now deliver to my area for the price of $376.00 a ton!

In June I paid 276.00 a ton, and in July I paid $305.00 per ton, I borrowed a box truck from work to pick up in Weschester County,
For our area with time and labor it balances out. I did forget to ask if that included delivery, also he did have another brand for $350.00 per ton

they must be nuts.....that's a very high price...

There is a lot of $$$$ kickin around down there so everything is priced ugly. Even up here at the top of the state we still get raked over the coals for most everything unless we scrounge. Of course being a scrounge I just got my 3 tons last week for $194. Of course I am not saying where, thats my little secret.

Last weekend I was up in the Adirondacks, as I drove by a stove shop on Rt. 28 near Indian Lake they had sign in the lot for pellets $299.00 a ton.

Wow, that is really expensive!!! I have never been able to order from them since they didn't deliver to Colorado. Pelletsales.com will be selling pellets from Rocky Mountain Pellet Company soon, so I will let you know what price they charge us out here in Colorado since transportation should be minimal because the mill is located right here in Colorado. By the way, I just spoke with someone from Rocky Mountain Pellet Company and she said the majority of the pellets being manufactured here would be heading back east and right now only pelletsales.com has a contract with them for their product. There will be more companies selling their product, but no contracts signed as of yet. They are just coming online for production, so the pellets will available soon.

She also sent me a mock up of what their bag will look like, and the bag says : Super Premium, ash content .5% or less, fines .5% or less (at mill gate), durability index 97.5+, and Heating Value/BTU/LB - 8200. Source material is Pine.

NYC is not that far from the PA line. Where pellets seem to be the lowest price in the North East. Depending on your volume it may be worth the trip.

I agree with In-Control............ PA prices are some of the most reasonable. I got 6 tons total and never paid over $250 for any. It would seem that a road trip in a rental truck would result in substantual savings overall. Good Hunting..............
