We are having Gerry form 4 Seasons Chimney from Stoughton http://www.4seasonschimney.com/index.html install our stove here in Dorchester. He will be
here next week for the installation. $1200 including piping.

Last year I called around to a bunch of places here on the Cape to install my stove. I think I started looking for an installer in October. I was getting answers like "We can send someone out there to have a look in December and maybe get your stove installed by late February". That wouldn't work for me.
So I installed it myself. I wouldn't have attempted it if I didn't gt lots of great advice from the fine folks in here. They helped me out more than they will ever know.
I had bought the stove used for cheap $$$. So I built a hearth using plywood, dura-rock and walkway pavers. I used polymeric sand as the mortar/grout. It came out great. I bought my Simpson Dura-vent from a local Stove shop (Sandwich Stove Shop) They didn't have the best prices on the vent pipe. But I wanted to establish a contact with a local dealer if I got into real trouble. If I remember right the Wood Burning Appliance permit cost me about $20.00. The town inspector approved my install and we had a long talk about the stove and how it works (I think he got one for himself).
I don't remember the exact amounts but the total install cost less than $500 including the stove.
In my case I vented vertically up to the cathedral ceiling and straight to the roof. I used to be in construction so roofing around the vent was no problem.
Mostly I just followed the stove manufacturers instructions.
Look into it, It's not that hard.
