Crappy treatment by dealer. Had to go at it a little. Why can't they just tell the truth ? I hope it was worth the stress. Quadrafire Santa Fe freestanding now standing in my basement thanks to strong neighbors. I do feel like someone just lifted a 250 lb. stove off my back. Love this site lots of support from you folks thanks a bunch, I mean it.

First it is shootings in church (liberal church), now shooting the Dem state head in Arkansas, and now the Irish toughs of Beantown are roughing up stove dealers! Only a matter of time before someone throws a bag of pellets through the dealers window.

I really do think somebody is going to get shot over a freakin pellet stove or a pallet of pellets before this craziness is over.

Never let it be said that we added to the craziness!
(now, quick, folks......please call or visit your dealer now....I've heard prices are going up and they are running out).........

Hey, the squeaking wheel gets the grease.......most of the time. Reminds me of the other day when I visited Best Buy to get a TV....had a 10% off coupon which said it was good on anything except closeouts, out of box, etc.

So the dude shows me the TV's.....we ask if any are on sale - he carefully shows us the price tags and says "no", explaining that if something is on sale it shows the reg. price and then a discount.

OK, so we pick a TV and show him the card. NO.....he says it is not good because the price already reflects a discount! So, very calmly, I ask to see the dept head. He gives me the same BS....I read the card carefully - out loud and to myself. It certain DOES apply! So we get the store manager - he gives us the SAME BS. I ask him "do me a favor - write up the sale and put the coupon code in and see what happens". He refuses, saying he knows what is gonna happen (no discount).......

I had it by then, and we left.

Next day, Martha walks in a Best Buy 12 miles away from the first (closer to our house, actually), looks at the same TV, gives them the coupon......and asks if it would apply. The fella said he didn't know, but he'd try it......of course, it worked first time, every time!

Don't you just love it when these asses know so much (like at the first store)?

Don't forget your $299 HDMI cable with double platinum dipped gold plated ends encrusted with ruby dust and blessed by none other than his holiness... The Pope.

Just kidding... Buy the cheap HDMI cable. It's just as good but you won't hear that from the genius at Best Buy either.

"Best Buy" has to be the most expensive and combative big box retailer I have ever encountered. To use my signature slogan, I wouldn't pee in their mouth if their teeth were on fire.

Yep, they are still at it at Best Buy. Years ago I was going to buy a computer at a BB store and left after they wouldn't take NO!!! for an answer on their extended service plan. I had bought a lot of stuff at BB and haven't shopped there since.

I have never liked buying anything from Worst Buy for much the same reasons as noted. Cirap City isn't much better, but maybe a little. I used to buy our appliances from the local utility run store here, but they closed up shop due to the competition. Since then, I order everything online; it's usually cheaper, even with shipping and no arguments. Some of the better ones I've found:

http://www.newegg.com/ for computer gear and small electronics

http://www.abt.com/ for appliances and larger electronics

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ for photographic and high end electronics

YMMV and standard disclaimers apply as always...

My Quad dealer has been excellent, so far!

Chris

PS: the picture controls are always set wacky on the slim profit models! ;-P

And another thing! lol We have all seen those shows with the hidden camera. They bring in the repair guy. Some little thing has been unhooked. Poor old lady's washing machine perhaps. lady this washer needs a new THIS and your THAT is broken also, But we finance. My favorite is you hear a little squeak in your brakes a tiny little sound. Just want to check the pads, and you always need $559.00 worth of EVERYTHING we sell . I try to repair every thing I can myself. I can't earn enough an hour to be paying useless you know what's. I've dealt with many fine companies for sure but this seems to be dying in this country. Too bad, you can make plenty of money and not be a crook.
