I am thinking about installing a wood stove into our living room with a stainless steel chimney that runs up the side of the house. It's a two story home, does anyone have a ballpark figure of how much that would cost? I know each house is different, but I just wanna have some frame of reference. Also, if it's too costly I'm considering a direct-vent natural gas stove instead (not sure how much that would be either). What's the general consensus on those versus wood stoves? We currently heat with an oil boiler and radiators and need to do something so as to offset the costs this winter...any info is appreciated!

I bought 2- 3 foot sections from them and 2 roof brackets (braces). I am sure the prices have gone up since last year when I bought mine but I would give these guys a try. Good shipping speed :cheese:

Not sure of the set up of your home, but you might be able to run single wall chimney pipe inside the home, then class a up through ceiling & roof. That would save alot of dough.
Check dynamitebuys.com they were cheapest for shipping and all when I looked last week.

I just purchased my chimney components online from three different vendors, and overall I paid $1158 for parts, shipping, and the tax on an in-state online purchase I made.
I ended up with 17.5 ft. of Class A Simpson Duratech 6" pipe, the proper components to go from the basement out the roof, and a telescoping single wall pipe I bought from Woodstock.
Most of my stuff came from Hearthside--they shipped what they had, and although the order was short two components they didn't tell me about that. Still, their prices were great, they shipped the four foot stainless sections with carton foam even though the price warranted no foam, and the pick-up was easy--I met the driver over at a local strip mall and loaded there. My order was shipped by a trucking company, so residential delivery wasn't possible.
I bought the two missing components from Hart's Hearth down in Eastern NC--good folks to work with, and my stuff came quickly enough.
Woodstock impressed me the most with their customer service. I called the guy to see if the metafab single-wall would work with the Duratech, and after his affirmation, I made the order. One of their customer service reps checked their records for what stove I purchased (and this was back in March or April when they had their discount deal going) and emailed me to see if I wanted them to paint the pipe to match the stove I bought at no extra charge. As far as I can tell, most other companies would have sent the stock black pipe out the door without doing the extra legwork.
