Have a question:

I have the pelletvent pipe kit from Simpson for my Pellet Stove. I have a corner installation, so i required a 45 degree elbow. When i pulled all the parts out of the box, i saw that the 90 degree elbow twisted. So i thought, great.. I can use the 90 degree in a 45 degree shape.. So i looked through the manual, read the directions, and installed my stove. Then today, i went to their website because now i needed a 90 degree for the outside top where the top piece connects, and i decided to read through their faqs and here it states:

11. Are the 45° or 90° elbows adjustable?
No. The elbows are factory sealed to prevent leaking under pressure.

So i am really hoping that what i did didn't destroy the integrity of that pipe, and i hope this term "adjustable" still means i can twist this pipe. Can somebody clarify. I just got this whole thing sealed, and i will not be happy with Simpson if i have to tear this apart, especially since the only place they have this documented is on that FAQ. Why allow this pipe to twist if you can't adjust? Ugh.

My next question is: if this is the case, will some RTV sealant on the joints help remedy this without having to teart this whole thing out?

Thanks
Todd

Adjustable means the base (female end) will twist. You should be able to go back to a 90 degree end and seal all the inner seams with high temp silicone and be good. Call me for a 45 elbow.

Why does your car go over 100 mph but the speedo only shows 85 mph?

They are stamped out and that is the eisiest way to make them, from what I know. I know Bvent pipes can twist but not P or L vent.

ok, i'll give a call tomorrow to get a 45.. i know this is going to screw up my positioning of the stove :S. Thanks for answering my question.

A Sawzall, correct blade, and duct tape will fix all.

Eric,
I was able to track down a 45 at the store I bought my pellets from. Thanks for the explanation. The stove's position is actually better with the shorter 45.
