Very impressive movie. I have been looking for a fast splitter that doesn't take a ton of gas to run. I like it ....I want one...Tell me how much it costs? I live in maine and can go pick it up in NH, so no need for freight and sales tax.

I must say without the movie, It looks like a flimsy rig , but to see it in action....it's fantastic

The price is on their web site $1425.00. It impressed me also. I was thinking about getting one but wanted to ask about them first.

Looks very similar to the supersplitter, same principle (I think). The engine looks like a Honda Knock off, might want to check into it. But definitely cheaper than a supersplitter.

Has anyone ever used a wood splitter like this? Here's the web site. www.thewoodwolf.com
Watch the movie.
very fast, price is not out of the question either!

I wouldn't get it. Looks like it doesn't convert to vertical. Which means a person would have to lift a heavy size round on to that thing to split it. Notice only small rounds where used in the video.

Trying splitting these with that piece of junk...

I agree with the earlier comment that it looks like a Supersplit - amazingly so. I've used a Supersplit that a friend uses in his wood business, and it is a VERY fast machine, but the downside is that as also mentioned, it is horizontal only, so you have to pick up each peice to split - gets heavy after a while.

What my friend does is use the supersplit in series with a horizontal / vertical hydraulic (MTD / Yard Machines 20ton). He cuts the logs to round length, about 16", then one of us chunks them up into about 1/4s (more or less depending on the size) with the hydraulic in vertical mode and then the other splits the chunks down to the customer spec'd 2" x 3" size... You CAN do a large round on the Supersplit, but it's really awkward as the table doesn't really allow enough room for both the finished splits and the peice you're working off of.

I've also done the final splitting with the hydraulic, and because I have a bigger wedge, can often make splits nearly as fast.

The other thing I note is that there seems to be a LOT more maintainance on the Supersplit - there are 3-4 parts that seem to frequently wear out and need replacing, and you have to be careful to keep the track very clean and well lubed or the wedge won't retract properly. With the hydraulic all it takes is to gob some grease on the rail occasionally and keep on going...

If I had to pick just one, I'd go for the hydraulic w/ no hesitation.
