We're more or less 24/7 wood burners..but the wife has the propane thermostat set at 67* just in case.

Our thermostat stays at 55 for now. Though, when we run out of oil I can see me spending the $800 on another source of DHW rather than oil.

Usually set the thermostatat 60. Had to run a second zone for the basement so burning some oil there. Only going through 200 gallons October-March (hot water heating too) instead of 800 gallons as in the past.
my hot water heater and cooking stove is propane. other than that we dont use the furnace to heat period. even when away for a while. the fisher gets the housw warm in about an hour, that acceptable to me

Burning wood only unless we are gone, 'till oil is gone, then all wood, and space heaters. We just can't afford the heating oil! Buying transportation fuel is bad enough. So I guess you could say we are totally committed due to necessity.

There is no "burning wood 24/7 WITH fossil fuel back up" option which would be me.
I will be burning pellets for heat and DHW 24/7 unless in the event the hopper runs out due to a vacation or long weekend away, then the money burner will kick on for heat.

24/7 Thermostat set at 58. Heat came on between 5& 6am last winter. After furnace came on woodstove would carry the the remaing 23.5 hours. If it didn't get below 58 or I got up prior to 6am no oil used. Only the coldest nights single digits or teens is when the oil burner kicked in. Burned 150 gallons from October to April.

I voted 24/7 w/ wood except when away. My oil burner is always on and set to 50, but it has never once engaged while I am home. But I do travel for biz alot, so it does kick on then to keep the pipes from freezing. Wish my thermostat could go lower than 50, there's no need to keep the house that warm when I'm away. The cat sure doesnt need it that warm!

Ill be burning 24/7 unless I'm away or dead.I really dont like my money going over seas to some other country will are country suffers. I think were going to see a lot of are people suffer for heat this year because they cant afford the price of oil and propane.

burning 24/7 thermostat on 55, may throw on heat for a little bit or so when we are having a sub zero week. only time i ain't burning is when gone away for weekend. totally comitted here

Got the stove installed last winter, but didn't have much wood at the time.
Got 4 cords ready to go, so I'm hoping to set the t-stat at 55 and keep the house comfortable with wood.

1st year with the wood heat. Hope to get about 80-85% with wood. Water heater is still gas. will see how it goes.

I only run my furnace for 1 cycle every other day in the truly cold weather. Wood in the morning, wood in the night. I load it up before work and it maintains in the 60's all day except in the coldest weather. I usually leave the house at 7:15 and have it roaring and return around 5:30. I worked too hard to have 6 cord ready to burn t pay the gas man
You don't have an option for me, which will be to mostly use wood, oil furnace as back up, or on cold mornings so I don't freeze my butt off while making a fire, and supplement with electric space heaters (hydroelectric in Pacific NW I believe).
Poll is rigged, we don't use no stinking fossil fuel for backup. It doesn't cover electric heat or electric heat pumps which we do use until it gets in the 40's.

Now that Ive spent all that money, saws, splitters. woodstoves, I guess Im burning 24-7. Unless Im gone

90% wood heat, when its below 20 degrees I kick the lp furnace on to pump some heat into the kids bedrooms on the far side of the house.

As much wood as possible here. I do have thermostat set at 60-65 and will kick it on for a few minutes if we are going downstairs to watch movies.
