So I'm totally bummed.....

Last week I get a call... 3 downed Oak trees and a LARGE trunk (about 10 ft long - 3 ft wide) Go cut it up and take it. FREE !! SWEET!

Load up all my gear last night... jump in the truck this morning and off I go. Get about 2 miles from the house and stop at a stop sign. Just as I come to a stop.. I hear POW!!! The brake pedal goes right to the floor!! Thank God there was nobody around. I could have killed somebody. And thank god it didn't happen with a bed full of Oak tree!!

I limp the truck back home.. Don't see any fluid coming out. Brakes don't pump up. They'll stop the truck.. but BARELY!!

Thoughts?

Master cylinder was my first thought.

My second was where is this free wood?? :)

Assuming the 'POW' wasn't from the pedal hitting the floor I'm guessing something physically broke at one wheel.

I would pull all 4 wheels and R&R;all 4 brakes....not just the broken one.

Your brake reservoir has two sections. Is one empty?

You may be able to get another clue by checking if the e-brake works.

Since we are talking about brakes, it would be a smart idea for you to take it to a shop.

dropping it off tonite. Don't have the time or energy to mess with it. Plus I need it saturday!!!

It was brakeline... all fixed!

mid 90's F150's are Rust BUCKETS!!

I was gonna say the same thing, check the other brake lines cause where theres smoke theres fire! A big ol load of read oak is tough enought to stop especially with only 3% of the braking capacity!!! Where was that oak? ;-)

Actually that was the last of the old ones..... Thanks though..
