A few questions from a newbie. This is my first stove, so I'm not real sure if this normal. My first and second burn on the stove, I noticed the flame will get pretty low at times. I have the stove set at 50%, or 5, and it doesn't seem to stay at the same level. The flame gets big then very low, then big.
I also noticed the pellets are more prone to fall on the left side of the burn pot, causing the flame to be more on that side. The pellets build up on the right, then catch
fire and the process starts all over again. Is it me or should the whole burn pot be fired off? Should the flame stay about the same size for a certain setting?

thanks for your help.

Can you include a couple of pics of what you're seeing? I have the 25-pdvc and the flame will grow and fall as fuel is fed in, and the flame is larger on the right when looking from the front.

I can tell you feeding pellets is not a perfect science but it should be somewhat centered, you may have a pellet stuck up inside the auger drop area check it out first. Even some dust buildup will cause pellets to ver offf course

The stove is new, so the build up of dust is unlikely. The pellets fall from the auger and strike a divider in the burn pot. I think the divider is a little offset, but the fact
that the left side burns more than the right might be from the blower unit not spreading, or blowing, evenly under the pot. What do you guys think?

Scarem,

Pictures of the situation would be helpful. Can you post any? Mike from Englander can probably shed some light on this as well.

how close to center is the splitter in the pot? it should be just a bit off center to the right as you look at it, if its close to center you would get more fuel on the left if too far off center (within 2.75 inches from the right side of the pot you will get more to the left. as asked for a picture of the pot itself would help me a lot. that said you will see fluctuations in flame height in some heat ranges its normal for pellet stove fires to kinda flare up as fuel drops in and drop some before the next batch falls in

Thanks Mike. The divider is little off center as you described. I guess my impression is the flame should stay at, or near, a 50 percent level with the setting on 5.
It's seems odd to me the flame would drop, almost to the level off the burn pot upper lip, on a medium setting. Don't get me wrong, I think this stove is great but I just needed to know this was normal
