Friends,

The controls on the Harman Advance wood pellet stove seem to work 'OK', however, I'd appreciate any suggestions for improving temperature and timing control....

Is there a OEM thermostat option?

Can a regular thermostat be used as a timer to start & stop the stove?

Any suggestions on ways to hide or mount the ugly sensor wire. (I'm thinking of running and extension wire to the other side of the room, but I don't want to see the tip poking out of the wall!)

The room sensor isn't a thermostat. The tip must be in free air space or it won't measure the air temp and let the stove adjust the output correctly to maintain temp in the home. I have heard of people putting a programable millivolt t-stat in series with the room sensor. The idea being the stove will not operate if the room sensor isn't hooked up. Once the t-stat closed the room sensor works. I also have a customer that put the tip of the room sensor near a nightlight that was on a timer. Once the light is on the room sensor heats up and the stove shuts off.

I don't know about a thermostat because I use the factory setup. Coil the wire up, and hang it on the wall behind the stove. I have been told to keep the wire short. I don't have the owners manual with me in my current location, but I think the longest extention you can can put on there is 20 feet.
