Looks like the weather in New England is going down hill this weekend with damp and cold conditions and I suspect there will be a lot of first burns and new actual heating burns too "including me". I am looking forward to cranking up the pellet stove as soon as I get home from work Friday afternoon. YEE HAAA!!!!!!
 
Call me Nancy but i ran my pellet stove over night the past two nights. I'll run it this weekend if i need to.
 
I just cleaned and painted the inside of my stove and fired it up today near Boston.

Was nice and toasty :)
 
Just fired my XXV up for a couple of hours one morning this week
to make sure everything is running as it should.
Ready! Set! Go!
 
I don't like turning it off/on, so not firing up my stove until it's
cool enough out to keep it running 24/7.
Have half a tank of oil left over from last season
that I'll tap into for a few mins on the chilly mornings.
 
Ran ours last Saturday morning for 2 hours.
35 Deg outside.
Living room (Small Cape) went from 65 to 75 in 25 minutes. (Only 12' X 12')
Temp at the top of the stairs went from 62 to 66.

Ran the temp setting at 73 on the stove.
I was impressed AND warm!

The true test will be at -10 with wind....Bring it On!!

Until my living room goes to 55, my wife won't let me turn on the stove. She seems unconvinced by my argument that running it sooner would allow us to go (semi)naked - prefers layers of flannel instead :)

I guess one of the only good things about living 60 miles north of ny city is that all the hot air that comes out of the financial district down there keeps us pretty warm till november. My hat goes off to all of you in New England . Stay warm.
 
She's burning on mid low 3 - 5 as it is not as cold as the unpredictable weather people say it was going to be but it is very damp out tonight.
Nice to see the flickering flame shadows on the wall and ceiling again (with lights out) been four + years since I had a stove.
Cats have rediscovered the heat zone in front of the stove and have taken over vital warm floor space.
 
I try to make it to Halloween before using any heat. The wife usually forces it on early with some crap about being able to see the kids breath.

We used ours last night for the first time for a few hours.....cold and damp here in southern maine.....pouring rains here last night.

LOL...to funny. I try to refrain as long as Halloween as well with spot burns here and there.
 
I am already on bag number three lol but I am a bit of a pyro. I keep telling the wife that I just want to make sure it is working correctly.

Yeah, what is she trying to do? Raise the kids to be panzies???? Ya gotta make them tough, just like when you used to walk to school 20 miles in the snow, uphill both ways.

But seriously, that was too funny...my kids were wondering in the other room what I was laughing so much about....ROFLMAO
 
I started a few days ago just to take the dampness out ..A few moments ago I just received and already installed a Skytech 3301P..for my St Croix Prescott EXL..programed it for all 7 days with 4 zones per 24 hours / switched my stove to T-Stat and wait to see what it does...hopefully something like I told it (programed it) to do...

"No heat 'til trick or treat" is the motto at my house!

But I can't wait to fire up my stove for the year. Even though it was almost 70 degrees out today.

we had about 38 last nite. stove on, nice and toasty. wife was sceptical, not anymore!!!
