I got a new Englander: http://summersheat.com/25-pdvc.html

The hopper is lined with ridged sealant that the fuel simply will not slide down the hopper to the auger and get's hung up. So the stove shuts down with a loaded hopper in under 8 hours. So it will go out when I want to sleep in and then have to re prime to auger.

I am guessing the best thing for now is to top off the hopper right before sleep. But I am not going to go through this ordeal all winter.

Also I recomend lighting pellets manualy as to auto ignite seems too low of output to ignite pellets quickly resulting in smolder and rapid spontenous combustion.

If you plan on getting one of these just a heads up for you. Other than that I am satisfied but still shows signs of hurry and rush jobs with some sloppy welds (which may be good but not filed) and messy hopper sealant

I had the same issue and lined my hopper with aluminum tape. The pellets slide down nicely now.

Wow that stinks. I've got the same stove manufactured in 10/06 I don't have any of those problems.Pellets slide down nice and it lights great.Hope you get it sorted out.

It's not an Englander only problem. Lots of folks here have had the same issue with other brands and the solution is almost always either the foil tape or waxing the hopper with a few coats of a hard carnuaba car wax. Sometimes it's caused by obstructions in the hopper, sometimes just the slope of the sides doesn't let it slip enough. In any case, no big issue to fix.

How about some cooking spray ? That's slippery stuff.

They make a "high temperature" cooking spray that might fit the bill.
Mostly used for BBQ's but I dont think the stove would mind

I have experienced the exact same thing. Im gonna try the tape!

Since this seems to be an issue, and the hopper on my stove is presently empty, I think I'll give it a car wax treatment tomorrow....can't hurt.

wouldnt the wax melt?

Reynolds makes a non-stick aluminum foil called
"Reynolds Wrap Release". It is available in most supermarkets and would
be easier to use than strips of tape and is also high temperature
rated. Nothing sticks to the slippery side including scotch tape.

I just can’t nail year down that I bought it, but its close to nineteen years now, with no problems but a blower motor and combustion motor {and you can get better price at your nearest electric motor service} they just don’t make them like they use to!! And I guess I never had the none slide problem so I am no help, sorry
