Hi Everyone,
New to pellet stoves.

I'm having a problem with my New Breckwell Big E.
I bought it online,I know I Know flame me now (good got that out of the way) so no dealer support.
It's not heating the way it should be from what I read here. Here's whats happening.
The unit starts up fine after the initial fill of the burn pot (filled about half way) nice flames 6-10in high but it almost burns itself out before the next feed, flames 1-2in high.I advanced the feed rate to the highest setting still with the same results. Its the same on all heat levels 1-4 I did not try #5. While its running I used the feed advance and the flames went back to 6-10in and it started to throw more heat.
The unit is on manual not on/off or HI/low,the damper is in all the way,I checked for auger jams checked for leaks, still nothing changed after I resealed the pipes, fixed air leak on door gasket (failed dollar bill test) .
It seems to be a feed problem, but its feeding like the chart in manual says it should be (times and duration of feed).

I need help, any ideas would be greatly appreciated,Thanks

The flame will go higher during and right after pellets are fed into the burn pot and then settle down a bit before the next feed cycle on low to medium settings.
On high settings the feed cycle is extended (longer) so the flames should remain higher and longer .
That said , I`m not familiar with the Big E so don`t hold me to it.

My Big E appears to do the same thing on the lower settings. There is very little flame. Try running the stove on "4" for awhile........ mine makes plenty of flame (and heat) on 4.

you can snuff out the fire on the lowest setting with the damper not set right, to much and you will blow it out , not enough no combustion air you snuff it out

Thank you for all the advice.
Breckwell's service dept is closed by the time I get home from work.
It looks like to much air and not enough pellets, even on #4 the pellets don't drop that many into the pot .
I adjusted the damper so the flame is straight up but not blowing pellets out of it on #3 it just doesn't get that hot.
How many pellets should be in the pot on #3 and #4 settings

Have you checked the times on the feed rate? There is a chart in the manual that gives the cycle times. I would also check to see if the damper rod is loose where it connects to the actual damper vent, you may need to readjust this as it may have changed during shipment. You will need to pull the side panel off on the left side of the stove. There are three screws on the back of the stove on the left side which allows you to remove this panel.

check the auger feed times, and this just sounds like a damper issue to me, its pretty much like an art controling that damper, you kinda have to play wiht it and you will get it, there all diffrent in there own way. there should be about half or a little less than half of the burn pot fill with pellets.

What position do you have the toggle switch in? Make sure it is in Manual. I know you indicated this but double check it.

Other than that it might be a bad board. I have run into a couple of these bad boards in a few of the stove I have recently installed.
