So I'm looking at purchasing a Breckwell Big E. My main concern is the noise from the fan. Is this just a concern for the Big E or is it all Breckwell stoves?

I was reading on a old thread that the loud noise from the fan was in older models and the new versions are more quiet.

I found the stove at Rural King for $1400. My only concern is if there is a problem with the stove and I'm in NY and the dealer is in the south how would i get to fix problems?

thanks for any advice..........

the blowers are whisper quiet, trust me
and you can go to breckwells website
www.breckwell.com
and in the upper right hand corner there is a link that says find a dealer near you, click on that and then a map of the US will pop up, click on your state and there will be a list of breckwell dealers that can service your stove.

Maybe the new ones are whisper quiet, but the old ones are noisey, I have one noooo way is it whisper quiiet.

No way is mine whisper quiet and mine was made last year. I like the stove a lot, but I don't think I would want it in my living room. The room air blower is fairly loud on high. We have ours just outside our bedroom door and we sleep just fine at night, but I don't think I would want the TV competing with it in the living room. Great stove for the money.

this is true, the fans were a bit noisy on the old models and that has been fixed on the new ones is what Mark Sims the internet store manager at Rural King told me.

Rural King is still selling the Big E for $1400. I dont' think you can get it cheaper anywhere else either. Plus their fedex freight quotes they give you are what they pay, they don't try to make margin on your freight bill.

Check out their website it might help ya out a little.

All I can say is good luck. Rural King is known for it's excellent dealer support.

Is or isn't?

The one Big E I heard last year was very noisy... but I have not heard a brand new one (if this has changed).

I was making a funny.

My Big-E is a little louder than i would like but i deal with it for the amount of heat it puts out i have a 2400 sq. foot house and have'nt turned on my furnace yet i just purchased this heater brand new in sept.

I run one - not whisper quiet for sure. Compared to other stoves it may depend on how much air is being moved. Also, there are two fans running - the air intake/exhaust to fuel the fire and the HE blower. Moving this much air will never be quiet. Look like we need the techie guys to start quoting dB output. there not whisper quiet.the higher the number the louder it is.

I do not own a Big E, but is there such a thing as a quiet pellet stove?

Enviro makes a couple

I have both a Big-E (in my shop) and a Breckwell P2000 in my house. The Big-E is much louder, by a mile. Both stoves are less than 1 year old. Even though the stove is loud it's hard to beat based on price. I got my Big-E for $1,000.00 at a local farm supply store on sale.

We got our stove online and a neighbor bought the exact same one from a nearby dealer.
We have had better luck getting our questions answered from our online company and actually got a reply from the manufactuer a week before the dealer did with the same question.
We need our stove looked at and they have scheduled a tech. to come in and check it out.

I think right now the local dealers are swamped with installations and are selling stoves that are just as new to them as to us.

I got my Big E from Ruralking last month. Just installed it last week. Its works great but I would say it is loud.... It does bother me since I like it quiet in the house but others may not be bothered by. (I've gone as far as to build sound attenuating covers for the hvac intakes in my house). I think it get only a tad bit louder on the higher settings, barely noticeable increase, meaning its loud to me on the setting 1 and 2. It was built Oct 08.
