I'm seriously considering a Fireplace Xtrordinaire FPX 44 to replace my existing fireplace. One of the most appealing features is that the fan is quiet. Are there other manufacturers to consider for efficient wood-burners that have quiet fans? This is being installed in our main great-room/tv watching room, so a quiet fan is a priority.

Thanks!
Dave

I'll bump the thread.

I can say that the blower on our Lopi Leyden is sorta loud but not annoying. On the other hand, the blower on our little fire place rattles like somebody put rocks in the clothes dryer.

My enviro kodiak is quiet even on the highest setting (180cfm). Doorway fan is somewhat noisy though. Just means I have to punch up the dolby 5:1 a little louder when watching the big screen. ;-) Or leave the doorway fan off and open a window.

Kinda like the blower on my current Heatilator.
"Want the blower kit with that?"
Of course!!!

Turn it on and immediately reach for earplugs. Then, by placing a sheet of paper in front of the outlet you can ALMOST see signs of air moving.
