no...i'm not a meteorologist. i called my harman dealer yesterday and asked when my boiler is coming in. today, he didnt call my cell like i told him to, he calls my home number, probably because he knows i wont be there to answer. my "new" date is December 30th, 2008. when i ordered this on 6-12-08, i was told august. in august i was told, "october 15th, no sooner, no later" now i cant see why i should believe i will be ringing in the new year with this thing. my biggest problem is i guess i am so gulible i like to believe people. when i stopped by their showroom they were very helpful, and kind, and didnt even kick my buddy out of the place cause he was wearing ski boots. they move alot of product, so i thought going with a bigger distributer i would have a half decent shot of getting my boiler in time. i wish the man said, "hey, theres a chance you wont see this until 2009." we even discussed that, and he assured me he had 1 boiler left that would be in by august. now, do i believe that my boiler is still waiting to be produced, or my boiler has been produced and sold to the man in the funny hair piece and the bigger bag of cash?

into everyones life, a little rain must fall. ($10 if you can name the movie)

there are a few positives that i can look at. i still have a job. i am 3/4 of the way through my 24" stone foundation, for my chimney. i can actually plumb my old boiler in preperation for the new boiler. i have also been doing my research on plumbing and electrical, so i shouldnt be fumbling around making guestimates, and posting "need help asap, basement is flooded". my wood will be well seasoned by the time i get around to burning it. beer is always available at my local distributer, no need to put a deposit on a case of beer that wont show up for 6 or 8 months. theres a ton of info on this board, and a lot of decent people who are more than willing to help a brother out.

thanks for letting me vent, that is, if you made it this far.

Hang in there FB. I feel a little of your pain. I am 5 weeks behind on my install because my GARN got delayed from an August 5 delivery date to September 12 (I ordered it on June 23). I should have put my underground piping in BEFORE the unit arrived, but I kept expecting it to be on time, then any day thereafter.

It sure seems strange that he "had one coming in" and now you are left swinging for almost 6 months. Your theory about Mr. Cashus Spendaway snapping up your unit with a higher offer may not be too far off the mark.

Keep the faith, and take some solace in the fact that heating oil prices are dropping again.

Well as a pellet stove dealer I can tell you that every single unit I ordered in may from every single manufacturer has arrived later than originally expected and has had its delivery date pushed back at least 3 times. One guy ordered his boiler in early April and his came in last week. We dealer get a lot of those kind of complaints and its hard to convince people otherwise because we just go by what the manufacturer tells us. Once the units come in I am going to be dropping a few lines for their poor handling of themselves. One company has told me several times that I had units on a truck between them and me and I still haven't seen those units. I am no longer offering their product.

I'm a supply house in CT I have 4 wc90 new yorker boilers in stock and 3 wc130's. They are simular to the harmon if anyone's interested shoot me a pm.

i would definetly like to give harman the shaft. its ashame me canceling my order wont hurt them. but i also wont be looking at harman for a fireplace insert, which would be my next purchase. (different house)

was it My Blue Heaven ?

another great quote from taht was "

Ehh, she's not my type. I like 'em... I dunno, kinda dirty or something."

i cant believe someone got that right. stephen you win the 10 bucks. i will give it to you on the day i am trying to get my boiler into my basement. (you might as well help). "you shouldnt stand there"......"why not"? "cause you could melt all this stuff" or "hey....nice day for a mow, huh?" could be my favorite movie of all time.

"into each life, a little rain must fall"

That is actually a quote from Longfellow.

An old punk rock band that I liked had a picture of a guy being bashed in the head inside their record sleeve with the caption"onto each head, a lead pipe must fall"

longfellow? no...steve martin. jk. oh - by the way...my boiler situation is looking much better. i might have one in my grubby little hands by monday.
