Hi - quick question for the gurus.
I ordered an Enviro Milan insert back in July. It came in last week. Due to the dimensions of my fireplace I am told that I need the 2" riser skirt. That part has not come in and the dealer says that they are not able to get a ship date or even an approximate date for the part. The dealer is telling me that it can be installed without it but it will leave a gap at the top and when the part comes in it can be added. They will have to charge for installing it at that time as they use contractors for installations.
Can someone shed some light on how difficult or easy this will be to do? I will have to pull the unit out and put it back in.
With no idea of a ship date and chilly nights approaching I would like to move forward insead of waiting for the part - I think.
Thanks!

I have an Enviro Meridian insert. If yours is anything like mine, it pops on pretty easily. Mine is held on with just 4 small screws.

You will have to pull the stove out a few inches so you screw it in, but not all the way out of the fireplace.

If you can live with the 2" gap for awhile, I'd say go ahead and fire it up, it won't effect the stove. The riser skirt just makes the stove look nicer in the fireplace.

Guess it all depends on whether you wanna be pretty or warm.

if you have the dimensions for the riser skirt ask a local sheet metal shop to fabricate it.....2"x whatever length you need to cover...or simply have them cut the blank size and you drill & tap...use a #29drill and an 8/32 tap....deduct your cost from the dealer's bill...
