You think he would have at least cleaned it up a bit before taking the pictures.
Just my 2 cents

Seriously....."I have up for sale a dirty, overpriced stove." From reports on other sites, Bixby stoves are top of the line, though.....they have some sort of ferris wheel feeding mechanism and a double burn pot that is self cleaning. I am interested in the seller's quote: "It will burn anything you can grow and dry out.". Heck, I is gonna grow pot and try it. ;-))

I guess he will find out if it is worth that much. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay at that particular time.

Don't forget you get the used stove pipe and used hearth pad for the $2200 difference :). Along with a used stove.

Of course, they forgot to mention that (almost certainly) their $1200 install was part of that "$5000" they spent.

If you have the Bixcheck software which is available online along with the cable to hook to your computer to make some adjustments to the self cleaning pot it will in fact burn many sources of fuel with ease. Here is a picture for example of running a mix of corn, wood pellets and bird seed. :gulp:

Rich, let me know when and I'll stop by with the neighbors, we'll just stand outside by the exhaust and have a few beers and chat. That said, maybe the guy is already growing pot, that would make sense considering the price? Wait, even better, let's move the stove to the ocean front property of slink's, dig some clams, burn some pot, now this is really turing into something. I'm in! Ok, I need to toss some more dog food in the quad, chilly up here in MN this eve.

He probably did pay what he said. We brought in a Bixby in 05 or 06 and they were retailing around 4200.00 and the proprietary pipe wasn't cheap either. Bixby is a weird company. I asked the rep when we were thinking of bringing them on if Bixby would be at "the show" referring to the HPBA show. She told me that it was usually up to the dealers to promote the product, then asked if I wanted to buy 24 or 50 units. Really out of touch with the industry.
