Another bio brick type product

I think they sell those at outdoor world in concord or hooksett

According to the Thermawood website they are "100% wood with no additives".

$400.00 a ton.

$400 a ton? That figures. They've been pushing these hard on CL in NH and MA over the past couple of weeks. No mention of price, so i figured they'd be pretty pricey. But $400 is way over the top, especially if oil continues to drop.

I dont know the btu out put per pound but that is alot of money.

That's insane. It seems that these guys set their price model a few months ago when oil was approaching $5.00 a gallon and heading up each week.

I think oil is back somewhere in the $3.00 to $3.50 range - at that price heating with oil is cheaper than heating with this product.

I saw the price on these. Wouldnt look to much further into it unless they come down$$. They are double the money of bio bricks.

I wouldn't buy anything from these folks. In my opinion, they're keeping the price of wood high on craigslist in NH because they advertise their $325/$350 cords on CL 10 times a day. Not surprised to hear they're getting $400 for this stuff. On a side note, anyone know where I can get bio bricks for a good price in central NH? I'd like to try them out.

you should be able to find someone close. The price of a 40lb bag should be $6-8. the price per ton should be less than $300. I am in Mass. and I use south shore pellets.

Where are you getting your bio bricks from cmon? I might go for half that!

I was in the Hooksett location and bought the trial bag of Thermawood for $13.95....they were supposed to burn on their own and didn't, so I used them with a few pieces of hardwood. When I complained, they gave me two more trial bags and stated that I might have received a bad batch.

With the new bags, I'm just tossing in a few pieces at a time with the hardwood. They burn for a good while but I wouldn't buy a ton for $400 (plus a $45 delivery fee). A ton equals two of those large sacks shown on line. Originally I was contemplating buying a half ton for $200 but last I checked, they've bumped up the price to $225.

They claim that everyone is raving about them. I raved too.......that they didn't work.

And oil is down to $2.69 a gallon.

neat idea but i could get about 4 chords of hardwood splits for that kind of money around here

they look like a product sold locally here in toledo at menards.....

they are made by a company in michigan called "logjam", and yes they are 100% natural pressed wood shavings-sawdust. retails for something like 4 bucks and

change, 6 logs to a case, i think they weight about 15 lbs per case. says they burn at 35,000btu with little or no ash and creasote.

There was a sales flyer for a chain in my area called building 19 5/8 or 15/16 or something like that. They usually sell real cheap stuff although once in a while you can find something decent there. I'm sure there's a story behind the name but it includes the fraction after the 19. Anyway, they were advertising pressed logs, 4 for $4.99. I wanted to check them out so I went in and bought a box of 10 for $9.99. I was't real impressed, I burned 5 in 5 hours. I found the manufacturers site:

They don't have much in the way of specs. I cut the wood I'm burning now down this summer and it burns hotter and longer than that.
