So -- I've got my Englander 30-NC and all the needed Simpson Duravent piping/hardware I need to install it. I just have some questions about the flashing... (the one that came with the Duravent Kit)... I have the double-walled stove pipe going up and connecting into the triple-walled piping up and out of the roof -- or at least that's the plan. I went with the double walled so I could have the stove closer to the wall....
Anyway -- here is my issue..... Where I want to put the stove is pretty close to the peak of the roof (assuming I go straight up). Now with Elbows/offets costing over $300 and cutting into an excellent draft I'd prefer to go straight up. I have play side to side, but because of the roof truses I don't have much play moving the stove front to back.... The stove backs to an exterior wall.....FYI.
Question 1 -- How close to the peak of the roof can I go? Like I said, I can shift the stove side to side, but the ideal position would put the chimney flashing going under the top or 2nd to top row of shingles.
Question 2 -- Since I have just about zero play front to back and my stove backs to an exterior wall, the chimney will be pretty close to the edge of my roof. The edge of the flashing will be right at the edge of my roof, or darn close.... Is this a problem?
Bottom line -- My chimney will exit the roof almost at the peak and right near the edge of the roof.... I'd rather not drop $400 beans on an offset if I dont' need to....
