Getting pellet stove installed in Northern New Jersey

they are up in Lafayette and did a very professional job
and were responsive to all of my questions. I do not know
if they do installs for what they don't sell but you could always ask.

Simple,
get a good tape measure,and measure three or four times.Most case the side by side has some give but not the height,be sure to factor in the pad and any differnence in the floor.
Draw a square the size you need,mark the center,
Get a long drill bit (be sure to be clear of any wires in the wall) and drill from inside to outside.
Now use that as a refernence and your all set to cut the hole.

If your still concerned you should be able to find a carpender who will charge by the hour..

Remember to look for the studs in the wall as well. I was in the same boat as you Newbie. I opted to have a chimney sweep do the final instalation. After spending the time watching them when they did the job, I felt rediculous to have them had done the work. It really is as simple as you think it might be, dont forget to factor in your pad height like dblfan said. I ended up using a length of adjustable pipe.
If cutting the hole is your biggest concern, as it was mine( I have a through cieling out roof install. If it leaked I wanted someone else for my wife to yell at other than me) I'd go with the finding a carpenter or knowlegable neighbor who can help you out.

Good advice from Jester,watch out for the studs,I used a stud finder,triple checked of course.Is it cutting the whole or the layout that concerns you? We have gone over layout,cutting the whole just requires a steady hand,sheet rock knife and then for the outside I used a sawzall but you coudle use a a hand held scroll saw.Once you have the pilot whole its easy.
There must be a neighbor who is handy,it much easier for him as its not his house ;-)
