Hey all,

Wondering if any of you know off hand what a blue/black enamel Jotul F400 Castine is retailing for in your area. I was told today by a local dealer that it would cost me $2511.00 after tax.

Also, can you buy them direct from the company?

Locally selling for 1965 black painted and 2358 for blue-black enamel. If you were closer I'd have such a deal for you.

The price of stoves are insane right now, $300-$400 more than 4 months ago.
If you have to buy now, then you have too.

Here is a price reference.....(We called 4 dealers and got 4 different prices for the Oslo)
We picked up a flat black Oslo 4 months ago for $1,675.00......

Here are the dealer prices in my area right now for Matte Black, add $299.00 for enamel
F400 Castine $1,699.00
F500 Oslo $1,979.00

Wow, when I bought my Oslo in 2006, it was $1700 for the flat black and add $100 for enamel and $150 for the white enamel. $300-$400 more for freaking paint? Why has paint gone up in price so much?

I paid $1,399.00 in 2004 for My Oslo, granted I was in the right place/time and truck load.....but still ...just look at the price from June 08 to September 08

I paid about 1950 for my matte balck Castine north of Boston about two months ago. The enamel versoin was a few hundred dollars more and I preferred the matte black anyway.

i was at the jotul dealer three weeks ago and seen the black jotul for 1999--2400 for the enamel one.

That Castine price sounds very steep unless the market has changed dramatically in the last 6 months. Last April my F600 blue/black enamel cost me a little under $2200, and if I recall the Castine was under $1800 at the same shop.

The market for imported goods has changed dramatically in the past 6 months, affected by the falling dollar. Which now has abruptly yoyo'ed up again.

Are Mainers considered foreigners to the rest of the country? Jotul factory is here in Maine :bug:

I was looking at some prices last week and this is what I got for the smaller stoves

602, $889
100, $1450
F3, $1650

from what I was told prices have doubled because of steel and the falling dollar. (I'm sure fossil fuel prices, and increase in popularity have nothing to do with it)

My Oslo (F500) was $1900 plus $300 for the enamel, so $2200 plus tax, read heat shield, and delivery.

I paid $1550 for my matte black castine back in April and I remember the dealer stating they were going to increase dramatically next(this) season.

Yeah . . . we're foreigners. :) ;)

I believe the cast iron stove itself is shipped from overseas . . . but I could be wrong about that.
