Couldn't have made my choice without extensive reading throughout hearth.com! I learned about efficiency, appropriate scale of output, safety, liner technology, etc..

Look at my involved installation. I have very tall external chimney with no possible access to the top from the roof. Cherry picker to the rescue! I have a great, heavy-gauge flexible liner, expertly insulated by my installers. They went up in the cherry picker then winched the liner up from inside the house.

Did a break in fire last night: very little smell from this unit. After the break in fire was completely out I revved up the stove following both the guidance of my manual and the valuable experience related on hearth.com.

I grew up in a house mainly heated by a big pre-EPA soapstone stove. I loved it. But the heating power of this EPA stove is tremendous. Holy cow. Heat rose to the second floor of my home without a problem.

You have a beautiful home! I love all the brick work. Congrat's on your purchase.

Enjoy your new HTG toy. Love your home.
BTW with all the extensive reading you did was a block off plate part of your install list?

Great looking install. What a wonderful house too. Good luck with it.

Thank you! I really love and respect this 1923 house. I've had some things to do to undo the damage done by those who didn't give it the respect that it deserves.

I am pro lower block-off plate, but we stuffed the area with rock wool, instead. Given the amazing heating capacity I'm feeling right now, I'd say it suffices. The heat is pouring in here, not up the chimney.

Like I said, as a veteran of a big old pre-epa soapstone stove, I am floored by the power of this thing. And secondary burn is cool!
