New to the wood stove thing but loving it. Got home from work last night around midnight. Colder than a witches you know what so lit a nice fire. Got her going good and started shutting down in stages around 550 f with a beautiful coal bed. Loaded her up, closed down the air, turned on the blower and hit the hay. Woke up this morning and stepped out of my room and it was like the Sahara desert. Thermo said 80 f! Poor lab had his tongue hanging down to the floor. It's going to be a warm winter in the habsfan house. I love sticking it to OPEC and big oil. I have done alot of work on my house but the Avalon was the best addition by far.

Well, despite your obvious poor taste in teams, welcome aboard and good for you! Middle of the winter that dog will be worshipping the stove. I finally moved our dog bed over there in the middle of the floor for ours, kuzz she'll be there for the next 5 months anyway.

Friggin habs. Oi.

:)

Not sure how warm it will be in the winter but it sure is easy to have a beach party here in the fall! Winter is an entirely different animal once the ground gets cold and the highs hover where our lows currently are.

I look forward to watching my Steelers tonight while sitting around in my shorts...

My cat loves the stoves as well. I'm afraid she might burn herself she gets so close. As for the Habs, this is the year the cup comes home!!! Go Habs Go !!!!

LOL- there was a recent thread about IR thermometers and people were comparing the fur temperatures on their cats.

Got to tell you, the B's are looking sweet. And like bad mofo's as well. I dunno how far they will go, but some other teams might have problems with attrition :)

80F with little effort RULES don't it???.

Habs???....BRUINS??????????.....BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHHA. When yall gunna learn?

The layout of my house lends itself to woodstoves. I have a small one level ranch with an open floor plan. The stove is in the rear of the house in the kitchen and projects the heat down the axis of the house. I could not have asked for better results. Like I said in my prior posts I am new to woodstoves but if anyone were to ask my oppinion I would say getting a blower installed on your stove is paramount.

OOPH...sorry Marty....but it was over before it started. Give my best to Sindy C. . Oh, and super sorry about the acquisition of Hossa and Conklin. I feel real bad about that. Those guys are pretty good if you didn't know.

+1. Boy did I have to put up with a bunch of crap when the Wings let the Sharks beat them last thursday.

The cup is home and should stay there for another year.

It's official...this thread has been hijacked!!!
Back to back in any sport is pretty tough. I don't know that the Wings will do it again but I do gurantee you'll have to bring your A game to get by them. The cup WILL stay in the west.

{...exhales} Don't make me bring the Lions into this.

Heh, i'm not a Lion's fan. They have been horrible with but a few flashes of looking like a football team. I gave up on them as a youth. We'll get a bunch of good draft pics and squander them or make bad pics. Been there done that. (though....point taken. A good football team would be cool around here)

It pains me to say much positive about the wings this year, but they're a hell of a team. Konstintinov was one of my all time favorite players and they are a model of what a hockey organization should strive to be.

Well Marty, you probably won't have much positive to say post season either ;-P Yeah, Vladi was a freak of nature with an attitude...what a tremendous loss. He still hangs out at the rink though and it's nice to see him even though he's a shell of his former self. I'll never forget when E. Lindros got a good lick in on him during the finals...later Vladi bout' put Lindros out of the rink (and I think that was the start of Lindros's concussion problems).

Yeah, solid organization from top to bottom. It took a long time to build but when you can get players that want to come play there and for less than market value...you gotta be doing something right.

Rangers :)
