Hi can anyone tell me what they are doing to clean the arbor. I took all the pellets out and took a vacum to what I can see of the arbor. Is that all you are doing or is there a way to get to more of the arbor? Thanks Leon

Do you mean the auger? As long as you don't put a lot of sawdust/fines into the hopper, vacuuming the excess sawdust every ton or so should be sufficient.

I ran a few bags of Nature's Heat through mine that had excessive dust/fines in the bag. Once the hopper was empty, I used my shop vac to clean the auger and feed tube. I simply put the hose to the auger in the hopper and then to the feed tube. It sucked everything right out. The shop vac hose is only slightly smaller than the feed tube so it generates good suction right up into the hopper

I use my shop vacuum in the hopper, they all come out, use clean vac, then sift the fines and use pellets over.

I dump some gasoline down through the auger and wait for it at the other end of the fed tube then light her up.... take care of all the fines and what ever else can burn int here.

DOH NOT>>>>>>

Whatever you do, don't make the newbie mistake I made a few years ago.

I took a can of compressed air and shot it through the tube to clear out the fines.

Worked great, but what a mess!!!

Sounded like a great idea at the time!
