The pattern on the glass is what I get too. I give it a quick wipe with a cotton cloth each morning and evening when I top off the pellets and it stays pretty clean most of the time. After a week burning cleanfire pellets, I get about 1-2 cups of ash in the tray, not much outside the tray. I push the accumulated ash from the burn pot into the tray each morning and evening. I'm sure once the temps outside get colder I'll be seeing more ash. But right now, there is very little outside the pan.

The pics of the Harmon XXV looks like ours does within 3 or 4 days of cleaning it.

I apparently have a dilemma. We're in the northern part of Michigan's lower peninsula; Elk Rapids, between Traverse City and Charlevoix. Have one and a half tons left, thought I better check my supplier. He's out and doesn't know when he'll get more, checked three others in Kalkaska, Traverse City and Grayling.......nada, nuthin'. Checked with the manufacturer, Michigan Wood Pellet, Inc. Says they won't have any on hand until the end of December.........can't find dry sawdust or dry wood. Sounds fishy to me, but of course it still doesn't solve my impending problem.

Anyone know of any other supplier who has product in Michigan?

Cantman.......

Our XXV looks the same. I get as much ash around the ash pan as I get in it (empty the shop vac every other time the pan is emptied); and don't open the door without spreading a cloth to catch what dribbles out. So far, it seems the ash pan fills to the top in about a week and a half.

The several replies to the person who asked what setting people keep their XXV on was interesting. I noticed some said on "Room" and some said on "Stove.".........I'm curious as to what one does over the other?

Last night we left it set at 75 all night. Trying to keep the upstairs around 64-66.
It seemed to work well. Outside temp was around 26 this morning.
Nice to go downstairs the AM with temp at 73!!
And wait, No furnace running!!

Life is good!!

I would be surprised if you didn't have a black toggle switch. It is located at the bottom of well where the control panel door swings out from.
