so a buddy of mine just purchased a jotul 350 insert, I think. I have a regency i2400.
Well after seeing his new stove I have box envy. I couldn't believe how big that box is compared to the 2400.
Regency claims 8 hour burn times but I've never been able to get that considering the box is fairly small.

How long do you 2400 owners get a burn for? maybe there are some tips and tricks I'm missing. We've only had it for less than a year.

But i would assume the more wood you can fit in the box, the longer it will burn.

Hi...

I have a regency i2400....and it's new to me this year. Burn times - I can get 8 hours and still have enough coals to easily get it going. More often than not the blower is still going which to me still says the stove is creating enough heat to be productive. I get this burn time after i get the wood burning and turn it all the way down. If i leave it 1/4 open (i've marked the air control in fourths) - it's less time. I also have come home after 10 hours and still have coals to get it going again. I am happy with this. The 8 hours in the manual - is based on best conditions...

I also try to get a bigger piece of oak or something in the back of the stove which i know will take time to burn...get smaller pieces in the front to get it going....

I also tried bio-bricks for the 1st time yesterday....tons of heat and remanats after 10 hours....i'd be afraid to fill my stove completely with those - but on a cold day about 8 of those babies...couple pieces of wood - very effective....

Before and after install pictures coming soon. Setting the blue stone mantel this afternoon.

I can get a useful 8 hrs from my f2400...you can't ask much more from 2.3 cu.ft.

I purchased an I2400 insert this year. I am very happy with the heat it throws into the house. I've been able to get a little over 6 hours or so out of a full firebox. Like you said, the coals left behind produce alot of heat, which in turn keeps the fan on. Add a couple of splits on top of the coals and the fire takes off again. Stay Warm All :)
