JD, the real answer is NO.

There is no stove or insert which does this in any decently efficient way.

The pellets in a basket do not burn efficiently, not enough air flow to do so.

I spoke to some of the leading engineers in the industry about these baskets and they laughed at me!
Basically, there is not way you can get any decent kind of efficiency out of them......

Like asking for a car that works as a boat (yes, there was one, but it didn't sell).....

All of the above. It might be possible to burn them, but not at any efficiency and convenience which would make it worth your while.

Easy solution for this problem is biobricks and other pressed logs..........they work in wood stoves and cost the same as pellets.

I agree with the other responders, one ugly stove, but a nice looking pooch.

Since there is no way to assure the exact amount of pellets and surface area which is burning at one time, the air and the fuel are mismatched. That means either too much or too little air - let alone the problems related to the direction of air flow, etc.....

Try burning a large pile of mulch in a wood stove and you will see some of the same forces at play....usually not enough air to ignite the amount of smoke coming off it.

I want a car boat, see them on the river up here. Actually I want a SUV/boat with a tent attachment, can someone please make one? I'll buy the prototype. With down riggers and a potty please, and holes in the floor for icefishing.
