I saw a post like this last year but couldn't find it through search. I feel really wasteful just throwing out all the plastic bags that the pellets come in, so I was looking for some suggested uses for them.

Anyone doing anything creative with their left over plastic bags?

i would like to recycle them but in our town only #2 plastics are recycled, worthless program i believe

Most bags have #4 recycle (stamped on bag) so we put them out
on the curb with the rest of the plastic recycles each week.
Our recycle truck takes the bags with no problems yet.

I use mine in the kitchen garbage can

I have not tried it but the thought just came to me to use them under mulch in the spring to keep the weeds from coming up.

How about hanging them in the garage windows as curtains so they neighbors can't see how many tons of pellets you have hiding away.

I've made a dress out of a couple and pajamas out of another. Really, I have just thrown them away in the trash but wish I could use them for something. Only 5 so far but feel bad everytime I throw 1 out.

I put apples in them to lug out to my treestand

Some recycling places take them, some don't.. check back with your recycler periodically.
because recycling programs are getting better at what they will accept and actually recycle.

Otherwise, I use them for garbage. The little holes are not a problem, but then again I also
compost nearly all organic material and recycle most of my garbage.

I've had some success with posting them in the free section of my local craigslist. One person
wanted them to use in gardening, and the other wanted them for storing firewood.

Haha, i caught that too, but he was just saying thats what he'd Like to do with the apples, right? Lol..

I'm going to put a "smiley face" sticker on a couple of bags and mail them to my former propane company. Hope the post office doesn't have a problem with that.

Recycle Can...

All could go to town recycling, so they can go into making more TREX, etc.

If... I had a pellet stove. Since I don't, as wood burners don't have this problem. We have others! ;>)
