Does anyone have any experience using Ozark Hardwood Pellets (OHP) I used up my supply of Homewood (to many fines and saw dust) OHP were available at Menards.

I bought one bag from home depot and tried them. They didn't seem all that great to me especially since they wanted $315 a ton here. I can get good quality softwood pellets here for about $260 for 1.2 tons or whatever 60 bags come out to. I would buy a couple bags and see if you like them. Its better than having nothing to burn..

I'm about a dozen bags into my four tons of them. My first year with the stove and around here, pellets were hard to come buy so I took what was available. As it's my first year with the stove, I have nothing to compare them to, but i have no complaints so far. They seem to burn fine and keep my home warm. No problems feeding so far. Does not seem like an excessive amount of fines. I do not seem to be going through any more or less than I expected. Without a benchmark i can't really comment on whether or not they produce more or less ash than any others, but again, I have no complaints thus far and I have been religious about cleaning the stove every three / four days. Ash seems minimal at about a bag a day. Hope this helps.
