Really, really nice!
I hope you have a ceiling fan just out of view?

You guys are too nice.

I wasn't expecting much of a positive response. I posted pics of the hearth pad in progress a while back and received almost no comments. I thought to myself, this must look real bad 'cause I seen you guys compliment so much other stuff. I figured
it just looked better to me that to others. This time I decided to take a (deceivingly) better picture.

Anyway, I love you guys - my wood burning brothers. It's especially nice to hear positive feedback because I haven't had many guests.

Being cautious here, and it's probably deceiving because the camera has compressed the distance. If this is double wall pipe, does the stove have at least 7" from the back wall clearance?

Clearance behind the stove is more that 9.5 inches, as required by the manual. I used double wall to play it safe on the side wall which required 16 inches. That is what I got at it's closet point to the stove, though it's a half wall curving away.

Yep, new ceiling fan just installed.
More pics to come.

Looks great. How thick is that hearth pad?

Well....it's...ok. I mean...the stove accessory rack clashes with the ash bucket. That's a no-no. I'd yick it out and do it right.

:p

Looks real good. Keep an eye on wood floors near the stove and adjust your moisture in the house as required....and make sure you vaccuum the "stuff" that get's in the cracks when the wood shrinks.

The hearth pad is about 3 inches (stone of varying thickness in a bed of mortar mix over 5/8 cement board).

Great looking install - nice work, beautiful home. Let us all know what time to show up to the party... (I'd call it a "housewarming" but you clearly have the "warming" part covered - we'll call it a house-swarming party instead ;-)

My thoughts when I was going to add a stove to the den were to make the hearth twice the size necessary for the stove and do the back and side wall with the same stone. On the open end I was going to put a boulder or make a little wall out of the same stone so I had some significant storage for wood. I wanted that b/c the hearth where my Olympic is is huge - goes off about 6 feet to the left of the stove/chimney - and I can store a few days wood on it, which is great.

If I had it to do over again I'd probably make the hearth pad a little higher (thicker) so I could see the fire better.

AHEMM . Some of us are girls . . . woodburning little sisters. K ?

Is that a round mirror leaning against the entrance wall to the left ? That would look good on that big blank wall above and to the right of the stove. You have soft curvy lines ( ice cream cone ! ) to the left of the stove but none to the right. It's all linear to the right. The round mirror would balance that out.

That goes without saying. I love you, too, my little leaf.

It look really great. You could mount stove tools on the wall someday. You could seriously put a web link in your profile where we could all see more pictures of what looks like a fantastic house. Well done. I'm experiencing painful envy.

That's actually a glass table top, not a mirror leaning against the wall.

But if curves is what you want, how about this?
