Happy Thanksgiving all, I have something more to be thankful for this year YOU! You guys and gals have taught us a lot, save me and my neighbors, and gave me piece of mind.

Some good lessons from here;

Wood burning is not just throwing wood in a stove with paper light the paper and leave it burn.

Seasoned is a relative term

Cord is not always a cord and people like to try to rip you off on selling you a face cord as a full cord

Smoke from the chimney is NOT a normal byproduct of burning wood.

Temperature (stove and flue) is important

Cedar firestarters exist

There is more then one way to load a stove

what to do with ash

I'll stop now, or I'll be here all day and put all of you to sleep

Again Thank you all, eat plenty you have the next 11 months to work it off.

Full day at work today, then we're off tomorrow. Barring disaster, I'm getting up early and splitting a pickup load of red oak before going to eat at my maternal grandmother's. Need more wood in the shed! :)

Yes. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one flirting with the idea of working on the wood before doing the traditional Thanksgiving Day get-together with the dysfunctional family. :) ;)

Happy Turkey Day!

...and best of wishes to you all too!!

And don't forget to give thanks for the abundance of our blessings. We may have our problems, but we are still a blessed nation.

Thanks to all are men and women in the armed forces past and present. They are the true reason to be thankful and free.
