Approx. what is the percentage of heating is done by your pellets stove or pellet furnace **on the

I am being conservative and put 80% for my setup. My stove is installed in my finished
basement/office and does a pretty good job of keeping the first floor comfortable too.
However, when the outside windchill temps are in the teens or lower, I do run the
NG furnace every now and then because the rooms at the far end of the house get
a little bit tooo cool.

My home is very well insulated and new windows were just installed throughout so I am
expecting a higher percentage by the end of this winter.

I also chose 100%, however, someone forgot to add pellets before going to bed last night and the oil fired furnace kicked in when the temp inside got down to 60 degrees. For now, we'll say 99%...

I am hoping it will be 90% or better pellets. I have started to run propane furnace when do saturday or sunday stove cleaning for the short time to keep house at 70 (it doesn't run much in that short time period though). I do run my furnace fan on low though to circulate air in the house when pellet stove is running. So far since I have been running my stove I am at probably 98% pellet use. We had a few days where it was 6 deg F and the upstairs bedrooms were getting down around 60 to 62 deg F which is a bit cold, and the 1st floor was only 69 to 70, basement was toasty though :cheese: ! So we'll see how cold it gets and how the stove keeps up with the basement completely insulated now when winter really gets here.

Guessing 80% here. I have it on the main level and it heats this and the upstairs.

I do use a ventless LP heater for the 2 finished rooms in the basement.

I am thinking about looking for a small used pellet stove for the basement next year.

So far I have not turned on the oil heat yet..Oil burner goes on only to provide hot water..I was hoping the pellets would help me as a secondary heat souce..Turns out the Harman Accentra is keeping the downstairs (936 sq feet) at 72-78 degrees and the uptairs (936 sq feet) 66-68 degrees, and we've had quite a few cold nights here in southern Maine..Whoo Hoooo...I'm hoping I never have to turn on the oil heat!!

I put 90% due to my TV room which is a room off of another room. The windows are numerous in there (4 full size and 6 mini windows). The mini windows are pathetic and next year my plan to replace them and hopefully reduce the need for space heating.
