We grow em big here in western ny! Congrats. I passed on a small 6 point (hoping my 15 year old would get a shot). We go out tonite and tomorrow. We need about 3 deer (to keep from rationing the meat all winter). So see if you can't push some toward Churchville.

My hunting success thus far is 20 books down and zero deer. I was out yesterday and somehow my brother missed the same doe 3 times with a muzzleloader. Heading out today, its the last day of doe season in my part of NH, then off to Swan Lake NY for my annual thanksgiving hunting camp trip.
 
I am so jealous.
We have so many deer (16 in the field yesterday) but I have only seen one with a rack and it was maybe 4"?
We must go for quantity here.

WOW-we have monsters like that here in New Jersey but they're tough to find. Last year I took a 3 year old 160lbs and eight points but a small spread. I'm itching to get out there this year...Six day firearm starts December 8th here. Got my spot picked out, time off of work, etc... What did you take that big guy down with? I'm using a Remington 1100 3" magnum 12 gauge. It's never let me (or my dad-the gun is older than me) down yet. I'm hunting a county park this year and their rules are that a doe must be taken first, but meat is meat.

I live in northern NJ and although I'm not a hunter, I do see a lot of deer running around, though mostly smaller and lesser points than 8. I think all the deer hang out in people's backyards during hunting season, they're not stupid! :)

Well this one was right in my backyard which is 60 acres, just behind the pond and weapon used was a Winchester 1300 pump with a Simmons scope. 80 yard shot, never took a step. they can run but can't hide...
 
Very nice rack , but the little ones with spots instead of antlers taste waaaaayyy beter ;-)

Thanks for pushing this way. "Just" a doe, but I'm a meat hunter anyway. Nothing like that Western NY grain fed venison. Nicely rare. Mmmmmmmmm. It will be tenderloins for Sunday dinner.

I'll admit my redneck fetish...

I love fried deer heart. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the animal is delicious, but the heart... lord. If they ever opened a restaurant called "KFD", I'd be all over that.
 
Good lord!, that's a furry pig with antlers. That's a spread and a half!.

I've seen tons of doe so far...I think a few more days of hunting antlers and i'll take a doe.
 
I have to admit to being more successful with vehicle(3) than bullets(1)

I do love some venison!

I went out last year hunting for trespassers (we have horses), but a 7 pt walked within pistol range....

Shot this spike on the second day at about 100yds with a .30-.30 and ironsights. Too many trees to get into scopes for my taste. I do need to drop my rear sight some. Note the tuft of disturbed hair on his back, shot him square in the spine. Not my plan, I was aiming at a lower spot.

Just finished cutting up the second one of this season (shotgun). A nice size spike about 30 minutes into opening day, bang and I'm all done. First one was archery (doe)
Now it’s back to private land with the rifle until muzzle loader season.

I'm trying summer sausage as soon as I get the smoker hooked up, then some Italian sausage and jerky. Plus lots of roasts, steaks and burger.
 
Got a nice doe on friday at hunting camp in NY. About 40 yards with my 30-30 pump.
I also got a spine shot, not planning on it, just an odd angle. I've never seen a deer drop like that.
